snow is forecast for week commencing 10th April (I saw it on countryfile), so don't rule out problems at New Rd

Problems there seem to have stopped ever since that nice Mr Cameron had all the beavers in Worcestershire culled, along with the badgers, in the fight against bovine TB

oh wow county cricket still using that crap hashtag.
they do realise it makes them look like elitist, cricket hating people.
Surely they want the people going to the T20 games to actually watch county cricket as well.
anyway it is a joke that these elite people don't understand T20 cricket and County cricket is all one sport.

Probably the realcricket one. It's just a promotion aimed at the stalwart county supporters. It's a bit patronising towards supporters of the fc game, but it doesn't really denigrate any other form of cricket. It's hypocritical perhaps, given the ECB has just knocked down the CC in order to knock up a new T20 competition.

that actually made me laugh.
one hand ECB are calling County cricket proper cricket and the other they are promoting city base t20.
Anyway not sure it is great marketing if anything ECB should be looking at getting T20 cricket fans into other forms and not patronising either set of fans.
Always thought the hashtag was used to get more notice during April and may when ipl starts and Sky sports don't really cover county cricket and the football season is still on full song.

pretty good tweet from Mark Butcher.
"great, variety is the spice of life (unless you're a cricket snob, slowly drawing the life out of the game)"
"well, banging on about "proper cricket" won't change that I'm afraid - it is likely to put plenty off however!"

Yorkshire’s 13-man squad to face Hampshire County Cricket Club:
Gary Ballance (Captain), Tim Bresnan, Ben Coad, Peter Handscomb, Andrew Hodd (Wicketkeeper), Jack Leaning, Alex Lees, Adam Lyth, Steven Patterson, Azeem Rafiq, Will Rhodes, Josh Shaw, James Wainman.

Hants replacing Surrey as everyone's second favourite side this season. ;)

Yorks not going to see Bairstow and Root in the first half of the season, and maybe not at all. Question will be how often will Rashid, Willey and Plunkett be available? They're not starting the campaign. Matthew Fisher and Sidebottom are injured. Brooks is out for at least a month.

Handscom should be a good signing and he'll need to have a good season. Can't see Yorks going down but they need to win this kind of home game to avoid a touch of nip and tuck. And hope the sky stays clear.

So if you think T20 is rubbish you're a cricket snob, I would say Butcher is looking arrogant in believing anyone who doesn't agree with him is a snob.

A 15 player squad for the game at the Oval:

Ian Bell (Captain)
Tim Ambrose (Wicket-Keeper)
Liam Banks
Keith Barker
Rikki Clarke
Sam Hain
Oliver Hannon-Dalby
Alex Mellor (Wicket-Keeper)
George Panayi
Jeetan Patel
William Porterfield
Sunny Singh
Grant Thornton
Jonathan Trott
Chris Wright

Some young pretenders included wonder if any will get a game. Unusual to see two wicket keepers listed but I think they hope Mellor can develop as a top order batsman.

I just saw that. Thought it was odd timing but last week seems to have been the final straw.
