No team secured a victory for the first time in a long time as the sixth round came to an end yesterday.

Offspinner shane Shillingford took 5-47 to dismiss Guyana for 164 at Providence to snatch a dramatic tie. Vishal Singh topscored for the hosts with 56.

Rain ruined a potential dramatic finish at sabina park. Denesh ramdin hit 53 not out as Trinidad closed on 163-6. Pacer Reynard Leveridge took 3-23 for Jamaica.

At warner park all three results were possible until the match was called off as a tense draw. Kenroy Williams hit 49 not out to take Barbados to 163-4 declared. Set a challenging 312 to win the Leewards made a good fist of it finishing on 286-8. Devon Thomas struck 103 and akeem Saunders 64 while left arm spinner jomel warrican took 6-89.

On the first day of the seventh round at Providence, Anthony Bramble improved his credentials to take over the gloves from Shane Dowrich in the Test team, by hitting 116 not out to lead Guyana to 276-8. Veteran Shivnarine Chanderpaul provided good support with 51. Offspinner Rahkeem Cornwall has taken three wickets for the Leewards to date.

In Tarouba, Barbados ended the opening day on 267-5, thanks to knocks of 92 from captain Shamar Brooks and 72 from Jonathan Carter. Spinner Bryan Charles has taken two wickets for Trinidad so far.

In Gros Islet, the Windwards bizarrely declared on 226-9 at the close of the first day's play. Veterans Devon Smith (107 not out) and Kirk Edwards (57) were the only batsmen to make runs against pacer Christopher Lamont, who took 4-52. Jamaica were 33 without loss at stumps.

At the halfway stage of their match at Providence, defending champions Guyana were in command of their match against a very poor Leewards. Wicketkeeper Anthony Bramble hit a mammoth 196 not out to steer Guyana to an imposing 417 all out, offspinner Rahkeem Cornwall finishing with 3-117. Left arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul then snared six wickets to leave the Leewards reeling at 114-9 at stumps.

At the Brian Lara stadium, 13 wickets fell as Barbados tightened their hold on the second day's play. Legspinner Imran Khan took 4-81 to bowl Barbados out for 316. Left arm spinner Jomel Warrican then captured six wickets to reduce Trinidad to 145-8 at the close of play. Captain Denesh Ramdin is the only batsman to offer any resistance with an unbeaten half-century.

In St Lucia, wickets continued to tumble as the Windwards tightened their grip on the match. Pacers Sherman Lewis (4-36) and Kyle Mayers (4-32) restrict Jamaica to a paltry 112-9, when there was another bizarre declaration. Opener John Campbell topscored with 29. Veteran Devon Smith once again showed he was a class apart with an unbeaten half century, as the Windwards, leading by 114 on first innings, finished on 142-3 at stumps.

At Providence, defending champions Guyana crushed a very poor Leewards side by 10 wickets with more than a day to spare. Left arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul took 6-32 to dismiss the Leewards for 149 all out in their first innings, Shane Burton and Devon Thomas topscoring with 20 each. Following on 268 behind, that is exactly the score the Leewards managed in their second innings. Akeem Saunders hit 101 and Burton 53, but there was not much else, as pacer Keemo Paull took 3-38. Guyana then hit off the target of one run without the loss of a wicket.

In south Trinidad, Denesh Ramdin struck 132 not out to guide the hosts to 214 all out, left arm spinner Jomel Warrican taking 6-71. Leading 102 on first innings, Barbados limped to 188-7 at the close of the third day's play. Allrounder Shamar Springer has topscored so far with 38 not out, while legspinner Imran Khan has taken three wickets to date.

On the penultimate day at Beausejour, a total of 14 wickets fell as the Windwards marched towards a rare victory. Veteran opener Devon Smith continued his good form with the bat, making 154 in the Windwards second innings total of 283 all out. Legspinner Damion Jacobs took 4-51. Chasing an unlikely 398 for victory, Jamaica reached 201-7 at stumps. Brandon King has topscored to date with 88, while medium pacer Kyle Mayers has taken three wickets so far.

Guyana secured yet another PCL title when they beat Jamaica by two wickets in a close, low-scoring encounter, played before a handful of spectators at Sabina Park.

Another 15 wickets fell on the third day, as chinaman bowler Gudakesh Motie-Kanhai took 4-39 to dismiss Jamaica for 212. Asad Fudadin topscored with 70. Set a mere 136 to win, Guyana eked their way to the target for the loss of eight wickets. Yet another match ended in three days in Port-of-Spain, with the Leewards beating Trinidad by just one wicket in another low-scoring encounter. Sheno Berridge took 4-40 to bowl Trinidad out for just 162 all out. Set only 222 to win, the Leewards made it over the line for the loss of nine wickets, thanks largely to a knock of 65 from Devon Thomas. Legspinner Imran Khan took 5-87.
