Just been a tribute to Colly on SSN and at the end the narrator said " he'll remain at the club as coach! ". Didn't clarify.

Interesting. Let's hope it wasn't just a slip of the tongue!

Let's hope it wasn't prefixed by "hopefully" and I missed that.

Contradicted by ITB's statement.
“Colly is Mr Durham and it will be very strange without him, but on behalf of myself and everyone at Durham County Cricket Club, I would like to wish him the very best in whatever the future holds.”

Hopefully the retirement announcement came before there were any talks about a coaching role and they will have some discussions now. He'll be away with England soonish so there isn't a great deal of time.

just seen the look north tribute to Colly, including footage of him as a 14 yo bowler. Blimey... he was a skinny little herbert... looked about 10

Geoff Cook looking more and more like Phil Drabble, every time I see him.... the purple nose is a dead giveaway

Yes, he looked completely lost. Mind I think they said he was playing for the U14 team. He may well having been only 10.
