Thanks. So it sounds as if he would be able to turn out for the occasional game.

Excellent turn out for Colly tonight. No hints of what he will do next.
He said he thinks Lees and Raine will be top players for us and hopes there may be a few more coming in.
Reckoned the batch of Duke balls in 4 day cricket are the reason for the low scores across the country.
He also joked that his own average has dragged the average runs per wickets down.

Career highlights were his first county contract, the century at the MCG to win the post-Ashes one day series after the 5-0 drubbing, the T20 WC win and Durham winning the CC in 2013.
Hardest bowler he faced was Murali after he was given the 15% degree dispensation!

Other thing he said which- might explain the 3 year deal- is he thinks Carse is good enough to play international cricket as an allrounder if he can stay fit.

That's very encouraging because Colly will be a very reliable judge and the 3 year contract to an injury prone bowler is saying we're confident you're good enough to earn your place as a batsman. I'd do the same with Potts' development -I don't think he has the build to be a fast bowler, at present at least.
Thanks for the feedback, capt.

He did briefly mention Potts but just to say he was unusually quick for his age and is another potential star if he can stay fit. He said the most frustrating thing over the last few seasons is in developing quality bowlers but then losing them to injury.

Recently retired Jonathon Trott expressing a desire to become a batting coach. Ideal for Durham imo.

Thanks. A thankless task this year picking a best batsman unless it's Latham- anyone else and it'll be whoever was the least worst!

Then I switch over to Sky Cricket and Colly's doing a masterclass on fielding.

Latham has won batsman of the year with Rushy winning bowler of the year and Poynter fielder of the year.

And the player of the year - members vote - is also Rushy.
