I was wondering if Colly will be the last payer operating from 2005. It's going to be him (41), Tresco (42) or Bell (35). A case of how long Bell fancies suffering the excruciating loss of talent maybe.

Good question! Last 2 years have been 2 of Colly's best and I think he will carry on if he has another prolific year. Still plays all 3 formats too.

Bell has a contract until 2020. Is he likely to step away from that?

It's conceivable he won't warrant a place in the team before then. But I expect he is most likely to go last.

Fairly harsh comments from Colly about the departed players - especially Coughlin. He also seems to be suggesting we'll be in division 2 for the next four or five years! The obvious problem is the longer we stay in div 2 the more likely we are to lose any emerging star players so it is essential to get back up and stay there. That's why I think the recruitment during the close season has been poor- in no way does this squad look like one of the strongest in the division or even well equipped to succeed in the one day tournaments.

His analysis seems sensible so no wonder FTECB see things differently!

Appalling double standards. Durham's track record of developing local talent for county and country makes it even worse.

Membership card arrived today. The envelope contained a leaflet advertising a care home.

do we now have a care home on the list of sponsors, perhaps?

or maybe the care home involved thinks that anyone supporting Durham must have some mental health issues that may in the future warrant some form of residential care?

Clearly what they've failed to grasp is that sitting in a corner with hands on head whilst muttering incoherently and rocking back and forth is actually a perfectly reasonable response to any new FTECB directive/initiative/statement
