My main worry is if we'll be able to score enough runs to give him a chance to make an impression. An international spinner on late season pitches is a good idea-if there are enough runs in the bank.

What could possibly go wrong? At least we have a reliable wicket keeper to pull off all the sharp catches and stumpings!

Had a browse on the Durham website and I see online tickets are £12 + £1.50 booking fee.

Anyone know what the gate prices are? Thinking of making the pilgrimage to CLS.

Yep. Looks as if Friday is indeed £15 at the gate or £12 in advance.

Story in the Mail today about how the counties are pushing to get a share of the IPL compensation money that is pocketed by FTECB. Article claims that if such a system had been in place Durham would have made £137,000 from Stokes' deal.
I'm not sure about that given he is a centrally contracted player but it is scandalous how the counties have not been properly compensated for losing players.

FTECB would have just said that stokes wouldn't have been made available to us irrespective of whether he was at IPL or not

Probably. Was there not a situation with Yorkshire a while back where they allowed a player ( Bairstow?) to enter the IPL auction and then when he went unsold they wouldn't let Yorkshire play him because they insisted he needed a rest.
Something along those lines.

He's centrally contracted on a yearly basis but it's Durham who hold his registration and crucially his career started at Durham. Counties were unaware until this season of the compensation payment which FTECB have received since IPL began. It's been increased from 10% to 20% this season; Counties are proposing that the 20% is shared equally between FTECB and the county.

That seems fair. Typical FTECB behaviour in hoarding that money whilst keeping the counties in the dark.

Very wise words from Nash. Didn't Graves explicitly say the other day that no counties were paid not to bid for tests? And yet here one of their own spokesmen is saying the opoosite.
