Will FTECB swap Wood for Woakes on Friday? With a bit of luck they will considering we're playing Warwickshire on the same day! Second test is at Headingley so there must be a chance either Wood will play for Durham or Woakes for the Bears.
Wood for us with Woakes with England would be ideal.

if Woakes goes with England, they'll keep Wood as 12th man

Woakes does, of course, have the perfect England test match preparation in his favour

ie he's spent some time in the IPL followed by some time sitting on his @rse

preparation doesn't come any better than that

That'd be just typical! Wood ineffective in this first test so Woakes has a good chance of replacing him so fingers crossed he will!

trouble is, Wood wasn't the only ineffective one, so I can see an unchanged side for the second test

Could well be. Give them a chance to put it right- was going to say they can't get any worse but they surely can!

based on this, I think Woody will be the only change to the England team

Yes. All of them should be fine for the start of next season!

Both Carse and McCarthy were playing club cricket at the weekend although Carse wasn't bowling.

Jennings in the test squad with Rocky dropped.

I saw that. was that the only change?

poor old Stonemercenary..... makes the heart bleed.

At least Jennings looked as though he could make the step up, when he was a Durham player....... Stonemercenary never did, which was why he was the 12th choice partner for Steeley.

Stonemercenary had neither the temperament nor the technique for test cricket. Jennings has the temperament, imo. Whether he has, or can develop, the technique remains to be seen

Yep. I think there was just the one change. The jury still out on Jennings until he corrects his technical flaws - perhaps he has but the Pakistan attack will provide us with the answer.

A tweet from Stuart Rayner today mentioning his next book will be out next year and is about Durham! That will be a must read.

Stokes "likely" to miss the ODI series against Australia according to the Daily Mail although the decision will be taken next week after another scan. Luckily all the tickets at CLS have already been sold!
