I can't remember if he has 1 game left or 2. The CPL starts next week I think.

Just checked - he signed for 9 games so 2 more to go.

that's right, I remember now. thanks

Northants next and they've lost 6 from 7 and the other one was a tie ( have a feeling a very high scoring tie ) so glass half full view is we should win but in the other hand they surely must be due a win and Coetzer is due to make a big score.
I think we need to win at least one ( preferably both of course ) of Tahir's last 2. It might go horribly wrong after he goes ...unless Lewis has a world class replacement up his sleeve.

Mail on Sunday reporting that Alex Lees(Yorkshire) is joining Durham on a long term deal.
Would be a good signing imo. Averages 35 in in 1st class cricket; lost his way a little bit but clearly has ability. Probably a lot to do with Gale's lack of man management skills.

I agree. Definitely worth a punt. I do think though that in addition they need to try and sign at least one batsman with a track record of scoring heavily in FC cricket. No one on the county scene is likely to be available so they'll have to look elsewhere. Then again they didn't or couldn't do it last year!

everyone is leaving Yorkshire, atm

think Lees is a good fielder too. Was he not captain for a bit?

I think he was, captained the one day side.

Think it must be right about Andrew Gale

they can't wait to scarper

all feels very different to when Dizzy was in charge

Do we know when Latham is due to leave? If the plan is still for Axar Patel to replace him and assuming the Mail story about Lees is correct then maybe we could bring him in for the end of the season? There have been a few occasions recently where someone signs for a new county and then joins before the end of the current season.
Don't think I've heard anything at all about Axar since we announced he had signed.

Patel arriving mid-August to play last 6 CC games. Latham will be available for Q/F and final's day as Kiwi's v Bangladesh has been cancelled.

Suspect Stokes may be available for the Glamorgan game if he's not doing Porridge.

Thanks. So if it's possible to get Lees early it might be worth doing it. Although Yorkshire in a relegation battle and missing some players so they may want to keep him.

I thought Duckett was going to Warks

He's Duck(ett) out of it. Rumour was Warks but Mail implying Yorkshire is fairly definite.

Lees signing confirmed. 3 year deal and he is here on loan for the rest of this season - terms of the loan deal mean he is not eligible for the T20.

Can't be a better judge of opening batsman than Boycott and he rates him very highly
