I'm happy with this. Had a moderate red ball season but so did most batsmen across the country.

I agree, when the averages were published there were only a handful of batsmen with excellent returns and I think he has shown enough to warrant a new deal.

Could Mr Bostock be being very shrewd with these long term signings?. PCA are pressing for a substantial share of the new tv money being reflected in vastly increased players' salaries wef 2020. Tying players to long term contracts before this deadline appears to be a clever step.

Great point - chances are that Steel and Clark won't be costing us a great deal so if things don't pan out as hoped it won't be too damaging and if things do go well we have them signed up on longish term deals.

I remember when we all thought Clark was a complete waste of space, now we all seem to be pleased that we have tied him to a long term deal.

Credit for that has to go to the lad himself for turning everything around in the last couple of years

Yep. I certainly thought he had no chance of making it in FC cricket but he has made massive strides over the past couple of years.

Excellent return. I see he also got a few ( 22) runs in the first innings. Also noticed he tweeted that he won't be playing for CSK in next years IPL. Don't know if he'll be re-entering the auction, probably will do but will he get picked up by another team?

Rushy is the latest to extend his contract. He's signed until the end of 2020. Perhaps a wise idea to keep the extensions relatively short once a bowler is past 30 years old.
