The disciplinary panel will also consider charge of misuse of social media by the pair, most noticeably Stokes mimicking of Katie Price's disabled son. That could have serious consequences for Stokes.

Yes. I think you're right and Hales will be the next player to focus on T20's. I suppose with Stokes having a heavy workload as an all-rounder and nit being involved in the big bash then being rested banned for the Windies tour might not be a bad idea!

says something about the whole process when a punishment might simply serve to provide a beneficial rest period for Gentle Ben

Yep. Well over a year and still no resolution- although today is supposedly the day!

Lewis has "decided to leave the club" following Marcus North's review! Does that mean it was either resign or get the boot?!

Is it worth thinking about Colly, or has this come too late?

what's Benks doing these days?

Stuart Rayner mentioned Colly but suggested he might be more focused on England.
Benks is still ( I think ) working as a batting coach with South Africa. Think he'd be a very good option if he would be prepared to consider it.

I bet he would, now that JJB has gone

I'd prefer Colly if we could get him, but I would take Benks every day of the week. Things may not have worked out for him at Hants, but he has a history and a standing at Durham and would be a very good fit for us, I think. He understands the club and everyone connected with Durham understands him..... plus he knows the North East, his family know the North East, and so I hope that they would be fine with moving back over here.

I agree and having had time away he'd be able to come in and make a fresh start. There was a suggestion on Twitter Craig White might be in the frame. I don't know much about his coaching credentials but he sounds like the sort of name that we might be looking at!

Interesting piece from George Dobell. The re-structuring sounds s bit complicated to me - a head coach for list a & Championship cricket so not a full time job and then another coach for the T20.
Jonathan Trott mentioned as a possible batting consultant.

If that's right I guess we can probably rule out a really big name as there isn't a specific head coach role.

Someone on twitter asked Martin Emmerson if Craig White would be replacing Lewis and he said no.
Of course if Dobell is right about splitting the head coach role then there won't be a direct replacement so White could still be in the frame for a role. I've got no idea if he is.

England A have finally won a match against Pakistan A and Wood had a starring role. 1-24 from 4 overs and then 28 not out in a match winning partnership of 47 with Jamie Overton after England were reduced to 88/6 chasing 132.
