But still, good for him if he's improved his game.
He's tried all sorts of variations in order to overcome his frailty. Be ironic if he was to finally overcome his injury problems
to find the Currans and Archer had overtaken him in the pecking order.

Tom Latham 264 not out for New Zealand against Sri Lanka. Apparently it's the world record score for someone carrying their bat. Previous record was Alastair Cook with 244 not out at Melbourne during the last Ashes.

NZ posting 500 and plenty and SL collapsing to 20-3
has JJB taken charge already?

Don't worry - he's taking over after the test series!

that makes sense, because SL have just batted all day without loss
he'll soon coach that sort of thing out them

I hope he appreciates how lucky he is to have the club stand by him. Ball is in his court now.... I hope he does something sensible with it

He seems to be saying all the right things and I think he probably means them but time will tell!

Plunkett had to move to another club in order to break away from the influences that perpetuated his alcohol problem (as I understand it), so it would be a shame if JB felt as though he had to do the same

I think when the ban was announced there was something in the paper about Durham being concerned at his circle of friends outside the club, it sounds as if that link has been broken. The best case scenario is if he realises how close he came to losing his career and it makes him even more determined to make the most of what is surely his last chance.
