These two have decided to just go for it.

Of course it helps that Craig Overton is bowling like this is a bouncy Perth pitch, where you need to bang it in half way down. It's like he's totally not watched Abbott, Steyn and Davey pitching it up, and swinging it round corners.

Northeast and Dawson just coming into a little bit of form, this game and last.

Although since posting that, we haven't scored a boundary and have now lost Dawson.

60 run lead is my minimum aim. Closer to a 100 would obviously be great, but less than 60 would feel like a waste of a bowling effort earlier. Somerset might not be as strong as Surrey, but equally they're not Worcs. A slender deficit they can easily turn around. And now that it's clear that this game isn't finishing a draw, a defeat with no batting points would be a total disaster for us (whereas a win practically puts us safe!).

I guess they're playing for stumps but Dawson and Northeast showed the way to go.

This game could turn out the same way as Somerset's last game against Lancs but the other way round.

We may end up chasing around 80 in the last innings!

Only takes a quickfire 50 from someone in this game to really turn it on its head. Doesn't look like being from us however, don't really get why we are scratching around scoring about 1 run an over

I back us to defend. I don't back us to chase. We know our openers are walking wickets, and the moment you lose a couple of early ones in a run-chase, you can feel the pressure go through the roof.

It's another reason why I'm so hoping for this 60+ run lead. If Somerset set us anything half-defendable, they win.

I wouldn't back us to chase anything over a hundred.

26 wickets fallen so far, none to spin, so if he does that it would be an amazing feat. Not sure he'll get a bowl at all.

It's all about seam, we need 4 wickets after lunch, the lead is 30, I'm still worried they are going to get too many!

Superb effort by Abbott in admittedly helpful condition, but two five wicket hauls in the game is very impressive.

Back to his best.

Need these 3 wickets ASAP. I genuinely don't trust our batting line up to chase over 70 odd

Nope Somerset couldn't get 78 in their last game, and it was very similar to how this game is planning out.

Got to play positively from the start. Soames and Weatherley should both go in and have a swing from the off.

Dawson drops a sitter to finish the innings.

How crucial might that be?
