Well a kid and an oldun look like getting us over the line this time.

Very similar to the run chase against Middlesex. Comfortable in the end whilst chasing a low score, but we lost a sufficient number of wickets along the way to cause a lot of trouble.

It won't always be 220 or 250 that we're chasing.

Just reading that Steyn will seemingly now be with us all month. So three four-day matches, plus the entire remainder of the one-day competition.

Amla was apparently due to return after this two-game spell of Steyn's - before then leaving again to join up with SA in early July - but he's picked up a knee injury whilst back in SA. So, subject to fitness, Steyn will now cover such an extended period.

It probably means that is the last we've seen of Amla this season, as we made it clear a while ago that if everything goes well with Steyn's form and fitness, then it would him, rather than Amla, who returns to us in late August and September once SA are finished playing SL.

If Wood can add wickets today, to his recent good economy (and the fact that he can hold a bat), that makes things very interesting in relation to the KO stages, given Steyn's apparent extended availability. I can't see Berg or Crane getting dropped at all.

Whether that's Vince wanting us to get some practice of doing it before the KO stages (which seems sensible to me), or the fact that we've got three spinners so are hoping it might turn a little as the match goes on, I don't know.

I get that logic, but still alot riding on this game, and I'd tend to go with what we've done really well so far. Struggling a bit aswell with the early loss of Roussow who seems to have come out of his run of good form.

Keeping an eye on the Essex game with the hope they can beat Kent, but they're struggling also.

I know we've qualified, but after the ridiculous end to the Kent game, it will be gutting if we don't finish top.

What's fascinating about this position - batting first, wickets in hand - is that we haven't yet seen what Joe and Taylor can do in such a scenario.

There won't be any rebuilding required from them. And, ideally, there won't be much scope to gets dots and singles. Can they score freely, in a fairly pressure situation? I'd back Dawson, Berg and Lewis to, but I've got little idea in relation to Joe and Taylor. And potentially 350 or 360 is on here, if we step on the gas. 310 or 320 has to a be minimum.

Not usually. Chasing under the lights at the RB is usually quite nice. But less so if you're chasing 350+.

Thought exactly the same. Even on video evidence No way was any part of his heal behind the crease.
Just been a run out with the bat in exactly same position as foot in above incident.
