Useful start.

Has just started raining here in Poole.

Forecast is still completely dry tomorrow. So even if the rain does arrive today, there's no threat of not reaching a result.

Very happy with this 280 lead. Anything extra is a bonus now.

Nice if they have make the highest score of the match to win.

It will probably mean they will also have to bust the 300 psychological barrier.

50 for Abbott, clearly wanted to make up for his first baller in the first innings.

I wasn't aware he was responsible, but yes that too.

If we don't play again today then I'd settle for that pre lunch session, now in a far better match position than we were at stumps last night.

Looks like the weather will clear enough to get a couple of hours in before the close.

Inspection at 4.15pm, earliest play can start is 5pm.

Very damp and gloomy, I'm not hopeful.

Kevan James reports...

16:05
Update from the Ageas Bowl
Hampshire 290 & 244 v Worcestershire 211 & 17-1

Umpires planned an inspection for 4.10pm. Unofficially, it was hoped we might get a start at 5.00pm.
But it looks as though the covering over the bowlers' run is being being put back again.
I'm told it's not too wet despite a couple of hours of rain this afternoon.
There's still time to play an hour at the end of the day
