keep it tight, boys

Bit of a scare when Ackerman was firing but comfortable enough in the end by the sound of it. Only concern is that at some stage we're sure to need bigger scores and is the batting outside the top 3 strong enough? We'll worry about that later!

According to the Sky 'experts' last night 16 points should be enough for a QF place. If ( for once ) they're right it's now a question of whether it'll be home or away.

Looks as if Northants might beat Derbyshire tonight , think that'd help because Northants must be out of the reckoning but Derbyshire aren't. Ben Curran playing for Northants, think he is Sam and Tom's brother.

I think I remember Kevin playing at the Riverside for Northants, must have been right towards the end of his career.
Derby look certain to lose - Northants need 27 from 4 and a half overs with 7 wickets in hand.

As you said earlier those South group teams look ominous and I think we'd either need to either set or be able to chase big totals. A home QF would probably be ideal as the scores should be lower - I wonder if Stokes will be available at all? Probably would be if we make finals day but I have a feeling FTECB might intervene - they're setting up a disciplinary panel once his trial finishes so some sort of ban might be on the cards. Sensible thing would be to take into account the effective ban he's already served and draw a line under the sorry saga but they are not renowned for using common sense.
