He'll be a fine umpire - not much will get past him.

One annoying thing is the lack of explanation for changes - presumably Colly & Weighell are injured but who knows for sure?
Weighell must be, even Lewis wouldn't drop him for Dixon.

No early breakthroughs for the 3rd game in a row ( or 5th if we include the last 2 Championship games!)

So naturally a wicket has fallen and Dixon has it. 38/1.

According to Emmerson the man out ( Slater ) has stayed on the field to act as a runner for the new batsman - Reece - who hurt his ankle fielding.

This bowling attack is hopeless! Apart from Rushy ( and he's past his best ) I'm not sure if any of the others in this match works get into any other side ...nor would most of the batsmen !

Guys....

Any indication how Woody bowled at Derbyshire in the CC? In terms of pace, any indications from the game?

Compounded by absolutely nothing coming from the club as to how they're going to go about trying to rectify the situation.

Apparently his pace was good in both innings, the match report claimed his figures in the first innings didn't reflect how well he bowled. Then on the final day he bowled a lot of overs. Only caveat is some county cricket reporters regard mid 80's as being quick bowling. He needs to be up around 90mph to be successful at test level imo.

Yep. They don't seem to have any plans and now that the local newspapers have scaled back coverage there isn't even anyone to ask the questions.
