I know it doesn't/ shouldn't work this way but...end of season game with nothing to play for by either side so the whole focus is on the retirement of a legendary player- umpires should not be giving Colly out lbw!

At least it wasn't Michael Gough - he was at square leg. Although if he wasn't he may not have given it out!
My hunch ( and they're usually wrong ) is Middlesex won't be in the mood to dig deep in their second innings so Colly might have played his last innings but we've seen this lot make things difficult for years so there's still a fair chance Colly be in at 18/3 in the 4th innings with the game in the balance. In a funny way I hope he is!

Forgot to mention that I was talking to one of my old school teachers this afternoon. He's semi-retired and travels to a few away games. He was there last week for the infamous Leicestershire match and , at the start of the follow on , he saw Woody with pads on heading for the nets and then heading back again as the wickets started tumbling. He said to him " you'll be batting again soon " and Woody told him he wasn't going to take his pads off...sure enough he was in very shortly afterwards!

With the organised trips, I wonder whether people have to stick around for the unused days in those sorts of matches, or whether the trip gets curtailed and everyone comes home

Always stay until at least the beginning of the 4th day in my experience but the organisers have changed twice since Neil Harris passed on.

That's what my old teacher does - when he goes to away games he drives there.

well that's fair enough, because the rooms have been bought and paid for.

In a 2 day game against Notts, everyone probably spends the whole of day 3 in Hooters

I see there is a members forum tomorrow night. Presumably this is an extra one for Colly's send off

Yes. Think it's going to be him talking about his career. I must admit to having a tear in my eye when he came out to bat this afternoon to a guard of honour from the Middlesex players!

Did O'Shaughnesse join the guard of honour or did he remain at the wicket sharpening his trigger finger?

 He was there but probably getting warmed up! It was a strange dismissal - almost in slow motion , an appeal that seemed to be going to be given not out and then the dreaded raised finger! Still, at least it wasn't a duck for Colly.

All out for a lead of 189. Harte made 112.
That'll surely be a match winning lead although there's always the chance of a nasty surprise!

Just arrived and they appear to be making hard work of it. Colly has the only wicket. 74/1.
