I fear it's what you said earlier-a season too far. Colly have the role of team manager if he hasn't got something lined up with England.

Yep. Ideal thing would be for him to replace Lewis but I think England will want him.
If he can get fit I wouldn't rule out a return to form but even if it happens this will surely be his last year as a player and the chances of us getting promoted and/or doing well in the T20 are slim to non existent!

We've won the toss and are bowling. But the fact remains that many men continue to be put off by a female name on a book cover, Wood and Steel in for Colly and Rimmngton.

Notts 73/5. Looks as if we might win when it no longer matters - although conditions are overcast and Notts have a dangerous attack so any half decent total might be challenging.

Might not matter to you, but I can assure you that assisting in potentially knocking Notts out is something that your fellow county fans would be very appreciative of.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

According to Martin Emmerson Bell was lucky not to have been given out lbw on 20 so some misfortune there but still a fairly poor performance to score 300 and then have the opposition cruise home.

Bell was absolutely plum to Dixon from the video. Important thing is we've improved massively since the 1st 2 games of the tournament.

undoubtedly

by the end of the season we might have found our best 3 teams for the different comps, and how best to play them, setting us up nicely for next year.......... only to lose the more effective of them to other counties over the winter............ now that we are feeder club

also feels like years since Chris Nash made a huge score, so he'll be feeling very, very confident of a daddy hundred in the last 20 overs

he is playing Durham after all..... he county that provides aging or fledgling cricketers from around the country with the stats that secure them another contract extension

He's finally gone but I think we're in for tricky run chase in bowler friendly conditions. Might be a problem with Steel too - apparently he went off earlier with a leg injury.

A run a ball century by Mullaney to give Notts the upper hand and then just to cap it off a catastrophic last over from Dixon - the last wicket with ball 4 after the previous three deliveries all went for 6!! He finishes with 2-88...in bowler friendly conditions with the opposition on the back foot from the start.
Target is 256. I'm not holding out any much hope given the strength of the Notts attack.

The worst three bowling spells for Durham in one day cricket. Matt Dixon 9.4-0-88-2 v Notts today.

Melvyn Betts 10-1-87-2 v Essex at Chelmsford in 1996.
Chris Rushworth 10-1-83-0 v Northants at Northampton 2016.

He's in illustrious company then! Probably would have gone for 100 if he'd completed the over.

12 runs from the first 5 overs.

It really takes some doing to register historically awful bowling figures when everything is in favour of the bowlers. In fact before today I'd have thought it would be impossible. :facepalm
