Colly and Rimmington rested for tomorrow's game but Wood is back. I wonder if the calf injury is a factor in Colly's poor batting form - hard to know in the recent games because of this doomed opening strategy.

Yep. Ideal thing would be for him to replace Lewis but I think England will want him.
If he can get fit I wouldn't rule out a return to form but even if it happens this will surely be his last year as a player and the chances of us getting promoted and/or doing well in the T20 are slim to non existent!

A few wickets towards the end but the result never really in doubt after that massive Trott/Bell partnership. According to Martin Emmerson Bell was lucky not to have been given out lbw on 20 so some misfortune there but still a fairly poor performance to score 300 and then have the opposition cruise home.

Bell was absolutely plum to Dixon from the video. Important thing is we've improved massively since the 1st 2 games of the tournament.

by the end of the season we might have found our best 3 teams for the different comps, and how best to play them, setting us up nicely for next year.......... only to lose the more effective of them to other counties over the winter............ now that we are feeder club

also feels like years since Chris Nash made a huge score, so he'll be feeling very, very confident of a daddy hundred in the last 20 overs

He's finally gone but I think we're in for tricky run chase in bowler friendly conditions. Might be a problem with Steel too - apparently he went off earlier with a leg injury.

A run a ball century by Mullaney to give Notts the upper hand and then just to cap it off a catastrophic last over from Dixon - the last wicket with ball 4 after the previous three deliveries all went for 6!! He finishes with 2-88...in bowler friendly conditions with the opposition on the back foot from the start.
Target is 256. I'm not holding out any much hope given the strength of the Notts attack.

It really takes some doing to register historically awful bowling figures when everything is in favour of the bowlers. In fact before today I'd have thought it would be impossible.
