79/7 but off again for rain so that'll probably be the close. Barring an extraordinary turnaround ( and that's always a possibility!) or poor weather it shouldn't take long to wrap this up.

less than 300 runs and it looks as though it'll be more than enough for an innings victory

It's a FTECB ruling! -I'd be seriously concerned if I did understand.

tbf, they are doing that. We have 2 new openers for 2019, which will allow Cam Steel to drop back to 3, where he had a fair bit of joy last year. Clark at 4, and suddenly the top order looks decent.

That's true. Should be better next year, still think - in addition to Lees and Bancroft - we ideally need at least one more batsman in the middle order. If Lees and Bancroft can set good foundations it'd make it a lot easier, lots of these collapses ( not today!) start with a wicket or 3 inside the first few overs.

we are only allowed to have use the lights on a certain number of days a year, IIRC. Council decided that, I think, so perhaps something similar is in place for Glammy.

Alternatively it might be one of those 'has to be the same for both sides' things. We didn't have to bat under lights so neither do they

perhaps they ran out of pink balls?

could be anything. I always get the impression that, in cricket, everybody just makes everything up as they go along

and we still don't know anything about Jack Burnham, will he still be around, has he had/is he going to have his contract terminated.

Smudger still around, of course.... and never write Colly off... even if he is out of the runs atm, he is still a top notch capt. He might be a bigger miss than people thing when he does go.

Harte getting his chance this year... that might have legs

The allrounder slot is still wide open as well.... Trevaskis perhaps? or Mark Wood (shock, horror)

I agree. If there's one player it'd be foolish to write off it is Colly. Harte with that great century to set up an impossible win is a pen obvious good sign and I always think Smith is more valuable than his stats suggest - useful bowler , top fielder.
Burnham situation is interesting with rumours he's had his contract terminated, if it hasn't and he has the right attitude then there's no reason why he can't make it. It's been a tough time for him but as Cameron Bancroft might say - in this game you have to take the rough with the smooth!

how long is Rimmer signed for? His runs total and his batting ave for us is the same as Gareth Harte has managed.... and he takes more wickets

the Weighell has 185 runs in 5 knocks

get everyone fit and firing for next year and we could have plenty of runs in us right down to 9

Think it's 2 years for Rimmo. McCarthy and Potts are also handy with the bat.

One of the reasons why we struggle is that we do not have a settled line up... and I include bowlers in that.

So far this season, we have fielded 13 players who have featured in 3 or less of the 9 matches and only Rushy, Smith, Steel and Clark have featured in 7 of the 9, so we go into each match with a few players who have been parachuted into the side, presumably to fill holes, and if we don't address this, then we will sit in the middle or at the bottom of div 2 for years to come

at last, though, it does look as though we are starting to try and tackle it. As well as the openers, Salisbury looks a good signing

just need to try and get that Dixon fella signed up for next year :coat
