Hopefully he'll come in as listed in the squad - number 5.

I see Keith Barker was in the Warwickshire team for the last game - ended up rained off but he must be there to replace Woakes. :scared

Difficult to know who should make way for Colly from last game. Probably Steel with logically Latham moving up to open. Pity DCCC don't do logic.

True! The batting order and changes will probably be whatever makes the least sense. I have a feeling Colly might open again.

I heard that the plan is that Latham will bat in the middle order in this competition and the championship matches he is available for as well. Personally would prefer him to open.

So would I. He's a specialist opener and a world class player in a very ordinary batting side - surely the best way he can influence games is to have the chance to face most deliveries. Batting in the middle order means he's likely to come in after a poor start so the pressure will be on straight away and the chances of him failing increase.
And the other middle order players are sure to struggle as they'll also be in against the new ball.

Warwickshire won the toss and are bowling. Colly in for Steel and down on the BBC card to open again!
Barker is playing for Warwickshire. At least he shouldn't be able to score his customary hundred with Warwickshire batting second.

Once again the cunning plan of opening with Colly doesn't work. 7/1.

I just think that Durham's options mean he is always likely to be in early when there's already a crisis so will struggle to take control whereas if he opens he has the chance to try and hold the innings together. If he stays in the middle order then opening with Colly won't work imo. He must bat in the middle order.
