not a surprise

the question now is whether they put us straight back in, or take the ssip for a bit, just to rub our noses in it

we always do poorly against Sussex, but this time it wasn't even the danger men who have done the damage. It might be them in the second innings, of course

1 down and still 40 minutes to go until lunch. This'll be over by tea!

Making it through to lunch with no further casualties is a pleasant surprise.

Although Martin Emmerson says Latham survived a huge lbw shout just before the break.

Morning after the night before -hungover and I'm being serious.Remarkably similar to last season at Hove when Luke Wells scored a double ton. A few groups of Durham supporters were in a pub after the days play when the players arrived en masse. We left about 11.30 and the players were still there. Rushy spoke to us briefly as he came in, he'd got us tickets, but the remainder ignored all of us throughout the evening. Most of us were in Durham's colours, mostly middle-aged and perfectly well-behaved. That's pretty ignorant on their behalf and I lay the blame at Colly. He was clearly in charge and if he'd broke the ice with even just an acknowledgement, the others would have followed.

World Cup on now too and ideal beer garden weather.

it has to be said that losing the last 6 wickets for 9 runs is a new low

Think the only one to emerge with any credit from the debacle is Will Smith.

we always seem to get a battering down on the south coast whether we play at Hove or Arundal castle..... even when we were both div 1 teams.... and even when we were both good div 1 teams

Clark out for 49 to another dubious lbw decision. Doesn't really matter apart from him missing out on a 50.
