50 for Poynter! Another 300 runs might make this interesting. :D

84 from Poynter - not under any pressure but maybe that 170 wasn't a fluke after all.
9 down now though and the innings defeat a near certainty, may as well get it over with ASAP now.

And there's the last wicked. A disastrous performance from the first to the last.

Been like rabbits in the headlamps in both w innings when the new ball came. Fair play to Poytner although he's like many of them- occasional flamboyant inns but lacking when goings tough. Times up for Colly, needs to go before he becomes a complete embarrassment.

I can't ever imagine a time when Colly would be an embarrassment to Durham

If you play on past your sell by date you become an embarrassment. Aggregate of 109 runs in 10 innings suggests to me he is reaching that stage. Sad, more than embarrassing.

It is harsh but it's cruel to be kind. There could be nothing worse than the legend playing other than on merit.

Has to be a big concern over his lack of runs but I think there are mitigating circumstances - a string of single figures or ducks taking place during regular batting collapses are perhaps understandable. Think the two half decent scores were ended by a great delivery and poor decision.

Think it was Gooch who decided to retire mid-season when he kept getting starts and then inexplicably getting out in the 20's or 30's so in a strange way getting out to the first few balls faced might be less worrying.
At the end of the day though he needs to get runs and I wonder if the main issue is the ageing process means injuries are taking longer to heal.

If he's not properly fit for the T20 he surely can't play, perhaps a few weeks rest and time away will do the trick. If it doesn't I think he'll make the right decision - trouble might be with this small squad is even a half fit Colly is more likely to get runs than any alternative.

Just when he appeared to getting in to some form it must be particularly infuriating to get shot out by Umpire Burns. Smith was also triggered without a moments hesitation- Umpire Burns a worthy successor to umpire Sharp it appears :box .Sussex are a fine team when they play to their potential but folding as they did yesterday morning is a massive concern.
