T20 is 15 years in now and we still haven't learnt anything. Pace off the ball and variations in pace. There's lots of video evidence available of experienced players demonstrating these skills. Weighell for 2 years has just been running in hurling The ball down as fast as he can without control and getting tonked. :d'oh:
As for the batting our two, highest earners aren't even worth their place in the team on current form.

Bad tear of quad -He said ,about 2 weeks ago he hoped to be back for T20 but clearly has missed this one. He was in the gym but fairly restricted exercises. He said Nigel was looking after him :stupid :dunno :d'oh:

Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse!

Bizarre innings from Stokes - scoring far too slowly although I wouldn't be surprised if 200 was about 30 over par.

Yorkshire's 200 was indeed roughly 30 above par, was a relatively slow wicket particularly when bowling straight and the outfield looked like it got watered down. It wasn't an easy wicket to hit out, Lyth and Tattersall used precision over power to get the boundaries. Durham in comparsion tried swinging from ball one and got bogged down in the opening powerplay to some red hot Yorkshire bowling, particularly by Jack Brooks, who had Stokes in a tangle and was furious at the umpire for not giving a wide ball off a short delivery (despite toe-ending it).

Stokes knock might have looked good on paper, but he had no real interest in winning the game for Durham. He did pick up a knock approx mid-way in the innings and only upped the scoring because Yorkshire's middle overs bowling became increasingly slack at a point where 18 was needed off the final several overs.

Thanks for that report. It did seem like an odd innings from Stokes looking at the card but I suppose he'll be a bit rusty after his injury layoff.
As westoelad posted our bowling is clueless. They will not be able to restrict the opposition to par scores bowling first or defend them bowling second. And the batting lineup probably won't be able to set or chase par scores in any case!

And 79 of them were off the last 5 overs according to Marty!

Kyle Coetzer re-joining Northants for the T20 blast. Provided he's available for all the games he surely would have improved our side - Northants are stronger than us so if they want him why didn't we?

I wonder if he was going to be the signing that was "imminent" according to Marty.
Same side tonight, no doubt, aside from Harte for Stokes.
What's that about repeating the same thing and expecting a different outcome?

I hadn't thought about it but he could well be the signing he referred to. Would make sense.
Could we'll be another disaster tonight - Leics conceded about 220 in their opening game but then chased the runs down!

Lost the toss and have been put in. Looks as if Davies is in for Stokes and BBC card has Colly opening again!
Is Harte injured? Surely he'd be a better replacement for Stokes.

I was going to say there might be a slight chance of getting a half decent score but Colly run out now and immediately followed by Weighell! 123/7 with 3 and a bit over to go.
Unless it's a poor pitch it'll be another thrashing. At least Colly has finally got some runs.

They'll be lucky to get 140 at this rate. :horse
When I checked the scores earlier Durham and Notts were about neck and neck in terms of runs and wickets - now we're 133/7 and they're 174/4.

Useful innings from Poynter and partnership with Rimmington to take us to 153. Almost certainly not enough but you never know.
