fair to say it may not be going to plan

I did wonder if bowling first was a risk, we seem better suited to defending average scores than chasing them.

I absolutely agree with that

I suppose with rain around the thinking might have been that batting second could be advantageous but I think we are always going to have a problem chasing. Batting lineup looks very iffy.

:thumb Definitely. 78 runs and Poynter/Davies got 50 of them!

Poynter 23 Davies 27 Wood 12 and 3 extras. So the rest made 13 between them!!

Looks as if Notts will defeat Worcs. 22 needed from 3 overs with 5 wickets in hand.

Yep. So today's debacle hasn't cost us top spot and I think it guarantees us a top two finish if either Worcs or Lancs don't win their last game regardless of what happens to us against Derbys on Friday. I still think it's important to win even if Lancs slip up on Wednesday against Birmingham.

I agree

can't afford to go into the QF's in poor form

Derby can't qualify and play at Hove in the CC next Sunday. Be interesting to see what team they field at the Riverside on Friday night.

Hopefully they'll regard our game as an inconvenience! They must rest some of their main players.

Lancashire 45/4 after 7 overs against Birmingham. A loss for Lancs would secure our home QF place.

102 all out. Surely that won't be enough. Although it is a turning pitch so maybe there will be a twist - and didn't this lot bowl out a top class team for under 80 a few days ago?

7 wicket win for the Bears so we have a home QF. Let's hope we can end with a win to go into that game in a confident frame of mind.

that'll do

pity we've had to let others open the door for us

don't bode well for the QF's

I think it'd have still been in our hands if Lancs had won but if we lose on Friday and go into the QF on the back of two defeats it will be a big worry. Although I suppose if there is ever a good time for a wobble it's after qualification has been guaranteed.
Trouble is there's always a feeling the wheels could come off, batting lineup outside the top 3 looks dodgy and I think Rimmo sums up the bowling - one of the leading wicket takers in the Blast but with an economy rate of over 9 so very unpredictable.

Unchanged squad for tomorrow. Patel & Lees "ineligible" for T20. Lees was ruled out - I think - because of the loan terns but I wonder why Patel can't play?
