not that I'm being negative, you understand

It's just that i always get this twitchy ahead of quarter finals

all those years of humiliation and embarrassment takes it's toll when experienced as often as we've had to experience it

I've had a look at the tables and the fixtures.... Kent play Essex and they'll win, Gloucs play Hants and they'll also win, Sussex play the Middle and they'll win too

which means if we win tomorrow we get to look forward to being utterly annihilated by Jofra Archer and Rashid Khan next Thursday (because it will be the Thursday fixture, you know... bet you anything you like)

If we lose tomorrow and Worcs win, we'll end up with either Kent or Gloucs, depending on who beats their opposition the most comprehensively

on balance I think we have to hope we get Klinger, Howell et al

Kent has 81 ao written all over it, being bamboozled by Denly's leggies and Imram Qayyum's left arm offies, trying to chase 220 thanks to Joe Denly's 100 and Sean Dickson's late fireworks

I agree. Gloucs looks like our best chance. Archer and Rashid would almost certainly cause carnage.

Agree again! I'm preparing for defeat in the QF's so it will be a great and welcome surprise if we win!

Looks a little overcast so it could be another tricky game for the batsmen. Although most games are tricky for ours - even in idyllic conditions.

at least when we get our Thursday QF against Sussex, we won't have have to worry about Rashid Khan

seems he's played his last match of the comp and is now off with Afghanistan for their series against Ireland

Excellent. Martin Emmerson said a Thursday QF is unlikely because day 4 of the CC game at Cardiff is Wednesday but he mention that FTECB were in charge of the scheduling so...
Thursday it is then!

not sure why ME thinks that would influence anything

everybody is playing in the CC resumption, so everyone will be in the same boat, anyway

I would have thought we'd be at the top of list to be shafted by the scheduling

Not so sure they are-think it's Sky who'll decide when.i.e. Who plays on which of the days.

Other thing is - why schedule a round of CC games in the few days between the group stages and qualifiers.

of course, if Jofra Archer was to get injured tonight and be as unavailable for selection as Rashid Khan, Kent would get a no result tonight, we would suffer a wash out as well and we'd have to sit and watch as Worcs finished top of the group leaving us to face a fit and fired up Kent on Thursday

Especially when the final is a month away.

FTECB would simply point out that Sky's broadcasting rights will one day come up for renewal.

Sky will understand what they are trying to say
