Article in the paper predicted he'd probably make the squad but miss out on the starting X1 to Chris Woakes.

Aye but that was written before he took his 6fer.

Yep. He should be in, this will have been a good workout for him. Plenty of overs under the belt and as long as there are no issues over the next few days he should be raring to go.

So the answer to keeping bowlers fit is to let them sit on their Rse and eat curries. Anyone got Nigel's contact details?

CC resumes 9th June -let's hope all our bowlers are fit by then. Otherwise, sack Nigel!

I'd forgotten that Woakes hasn't been playing County cricket , he's at the IPL?

busy not playing in the IPL. Although he was involved (and did pretty well) in the first few matches. Not sure why he suddenly lost his place, unless he picked up an injury, or another bowler recovered from injury

Thanks. I've watched some of the IPL games, some great matches but the competition is far too long - money talks though ( or swears according to Bob Dylan!)
Stokes seems to have had a disastrous time, bowled pretty well at times but hardly scored a run.

The lack of local media coverage is annoying. Martin Emmerson doesn't seem to be doing end of day or match interviews ( apart from the dramatic final day last week ) and Stuart Rayner is a big miss.
Rayner would surely have asked Lewis and Colly why Rimmington and Dixon weren't bowling and also why they thought Rimmo was a suitable replacement for Onions.

Young Potts fully fit and in devastating form for the 2nds.

Very impressive. He's also scored a lot of runs in the past week - then again so has Pringle!

How do we think the 50 over campaign will go. It looks like with the injuries and non availability of the England players there is not that many choices to make. It looks like the batting again looks short of proven power hitters but with all our all rounders we have it could be that the player coming in at no10 could be as good a bat as the player at no6 in the order.I would have thought after that Derby match both Poynter and Richardson will retain their places.
As far as the bowling goes I wonder how much emphasis is going to be given to spin, will they bring in the specialist spinner Harding or who will get the nod between Trevaskis or Pringle if they decide to go for the slow bowling all rounder. Good to see Potts back and if he is fit he should play. For me especially the home matches i would go for
Latham
Steel
Clark
Richardson
Colly
Smith
Poynter
Potts
Weighell
Rimmington
Harding (if Rushy and Mccarthy are injured and Wood not available)
Looks a bit light weight!

I think they'll fit Pringle in there somewhere

I have absolutely no idea how the 50 over campaign will go

and I have no idea of what Latham's captaincy will be like... except to observe that we gave the captaincy to Stonemercenary who turned out to be rubbish before he jumped ship, then to Jennings who didn't tear anything up before he jumped ship and finally to Coughlin who was appalling right up to the point where he jumped ship too, so instinct tells me that Latham will probably be a crap captain who signs for another county next season

Let's hope Rimmington is a better one day bowler than a four day bowler. If not whoever decided he was up to the required standard has made a bowler. I think wearside willow's team is as good as we can get but I shudder to think what will happen in the T20! We look weak as a 50 over side and even worse when it comes to T20.

Made a howler re Rimmington not a bowler! Unfortunate auto correct.
