Northants have won the toss and are bowling. The forecast suggests there might be rain there this afternoon - in which case we might have a chance of either the DL win of a point for no result! If it goes the distance though I expect we'll lose.
Looks like an unchanged side from the Worcestershire victory.

Steel going first ball wasn't the ideal start!

top 3 out for 35

it's going well, then

10 overs too, so it's not as if they were just being reckless

Yet another run out in there too - Richardson seems to be involved in a lot of those.

Weather forecast suggests there might be thunder & lightning this afternoon at Northants!

Seems it was unlucky this time- Clark run out backing up.
However Emmerson says it's the 7th run out involving Richardson in 21 one day games- and in 6 of them his partner was the one out!

Smith gone after a good partnership with Latham but the run rate seems painfully slow. 139-4 with just under 16 overs to go.

Everyone scoring slowly except captain Tom. Maybe a slow track?

Yes, according to Martin Emmerson it's a "sticky" wicket. There have been some comical/unfortunate dismissals this season - Richardson running out Will Smith against Yorkshire was comedy gold , then Colly getting stumped with the keeper standing back against Lancs and apparently today Smith went for a pull shot, slipped over and somehow got a top edge straight to the fielder on the boundary!
The biblical storm should be due about now too if the forecast is correct.

And now Poynter stumped by everal feet charging down the pitch. Time to get Ryan Davies in for the next match-apparently he's learned the words to the Blaydon Races - whether he'll be singing them is another matter.
