Notts on top against championship favourites Lancashire, with Jake Ball taking 5-43 in Lancs 158 all out.

Five for James Harris too. Don't think a ton has been scored yet. Runs scored in these games must count for a lot. Vince and Berg's 75 runs are the highest scores so far.

although in the bright side next week we might get our usual summer for the year for a week.
going to be hotter than greece next week.

Agreed. It doesn't encourage a batsman to settle in for the long haul when you feel an unplayable delivery will come along soon.

No doubt the conditions are playing a large part (the runs made by Lancs' strong looking batting line-up would support that), but we're potentially already seeing the issues Notts are facing without Lumb, Hales, Taylor, Taylor, and Read. Even Hutton down the order, when he's get selected.

It's a weaker looking Notts side than the one that got relegated. And that's when we still had seven sides avoiding the drop, rather than the current six.

Still no tons. Tim Ambrose leads the way (I think) with a 76.

Fifty for Gareth Roderick in that Gloucs v Kent game stands out.

Yorks must have a particularly wet outfield. Maybe they didn't anticipate that anyone would want to play cricket on it any day soon.

more likely that Colin Graves realised that i had half my AYR boys playing in this game and decided to interfere, in the hope of protecting Joe Root.

apparently some bloke with a coat over his head has been seen down by the rugby stand end, in the dead of night, with a hosepipe

They're not having a further inspection until 13.40 so a fair chance of no play for the third day.

That didn't take long. N'hants give way to Middx in under 30 overs for the first win/loss of the season.

Everyone has Middx to go up.

and so they should

it'll be interesting to see what happens once England start to sniff around TRJ and Steve Finn and Ireland come looking for Murtagh. Harris never seems to feature that much in a season, so perhaps he's a bit of a sicknote too. There must be a reason why a team with such a strong looking bowling line up couldn't win any matches last year

Jennings digging in

Gloucs closing in on the win. Weather holding them up. Kent will be hoping it tosses it down all day tomorrow.
