Looked it up - it was his last innings for Yorkshire and the highest individual FC innings at Headingley - 339! Previous record holder was Bradman (334) v England in 1930. Also the second highest for Yorkshire - George Hirst made 341 v Leics in 1905.

I remember being annoyed, because I think we went into that match knowing that a draw would keep both teams safe (might be goldfish memory time again), and so I thought the two teams would play out a draw... then he did that.... and it felt personal, somehow... as if he was deliberately doing his utmost to relegate us. thank goodness for Benks and Big Ottis

probably only me that felt that way, but then I never really liked Lehmann at the best of times

Ha.... it took a very different kind of vendetta to finally relegate us.... and Lehmann's true colours were shown to the world by the disgusting attitude of his players to other nations when he took charge of Australia......... breaking arms, ending careers, making people cry..... horrible man... he must have been encouraging it as an 'ethos'.... I refuse to believe otherwise

In the Wikipedia article from where I took the stats it mentions the match was drawn and Yorkshire narrowly avoided relegation. So your memory is correct!

Yes, I remember ECB,as we then called them, stating pre-match that they'd be watching closely for any collution.
As for the odious Lehman, with his crocodile years when he resigned as Aussie coach, then sneaked back in months later in some coaching capacity. Just proves the Aussies will never change.

Looking at the report it seems somethings never change - losing the last 4 wickets in 12 balls to fall just short of avoiding the follow on and then , with 46 overs left , both openers going cheaply to get the nerves jangling. Century for Garry Park who I had completely forgotten about.

Don't think any of our batsmen have scored 518 runs in the season to date - unless Steel's 160 took him past it!

594... top scorer :no

Clark has 460

even Poynter has 426, which demonstrates how awful we've been with the bat :horse

Awful stats! But not surprising at all considering the constant batting collapses.

Yes, they could have paid for that extra year on his contract with the money they've squandered on Pillans and Poysden.

They need some runs from him now.
