Any thoughts of a player of the year? I was going for the obvious, Morne Morkel.

Young player would be Ollie Pope.

Morkel is the key man. I might go for Rory Burns purely because the bowlers have dominated this year.

For div 1 I'm tempted to go Burns as well, because the current scheduling of the CC hands all of the cards to the bowlers

For div 2 I'd probably go Bell, for pretty much the same reason. Besides it's nice to see that there can still be life in an old dog

Good to see Ollie Robinson having such a fine season carrying the Sussex attack while the big names were poncing about in the IPL or falling apart at the seams.... and staying injury free to boot

Maybe Henry in CC2?

MM was a one man wrecking machine in CC1. For me he had more of an impact than a batter doing well under the circumstances. People say the Oval helps the batters too (and Surrey's Burns and Pope scored the most runs).

Henry had a massive influence - Kent promoted in second place with the same number of batting points as Durham!

I can see the argument for a batter in a bowling dominant summer but 75 wickets in 11 games but be the most influential season long performance.

That's a remarkable tally of wickets per match. I knew he'd had a fantastic season but didn't realise it was that good. I see Podmore , innocuous at best for Durham, managed 43 wickets!
