At Queen's Park Oval, Guyana beat Canada by four wickets with more than 10 overs to spare. Veerasammy Permaul took 2-26 to restrict Canada to 205-7, Kumar topscoring with 51. Raymon Reifer then hit 61 not out and Anthony Bramble 44 as Guyana chased down the target for the loss of six wickets. Dutta took 3-41.

At Tarouba, the Windwards went down to another embarrassing loss, beaten by the West Indies 'B' team by three wickets with three overs to spare. pacers Alzarri Joseph took 3-54 and Chemar Holder 2-37 to restrict the Windwards to 227-9. Kavem Hodge made 78, Emmanuel Stewart 56, and Ryan John 44, but there was not much else for the Windwards. Larry Edward took 4-47 and Hodge 2-15 to reduce the WI 'B' team to 80-5, but wicketkeeper Tevin Imlach hit a patient 57 not out, and tailenders Odean Smith and Jeavor Royal hit 64 and 44 not out to take the WIndies 'B' team to victory.

At Cave Hill, Barbados beat the USA by four wickets with 15 overs to spare. Left-arm pacer Dominic Drakes took 4-44 to restrict the Americans to 212-8, Manank Patel topscoring with 80. Shane Moseley and Jonathan Carter then hit 60s as the Bajans chased down the target against Nosthush Kenjige (2-54) and Usman Ashraf (2-34).

In Bridgetown, rain saved the Leewards from defeat and created a no-result. Jermaine Blackwood struck a round 100 from 115 balls, including eight fours and two sixes, to lead Jamaica to an imposing 299-6. He was supported by John Campbell, who made 61, and there were 40s from Andre McCarthy and Brandon King. Rahkeem Cornwall took 2-53 and Jeremiah Louis 2-34. Rain washed out the Leewards' reply in the first over.

At Port-of-Spain, rain forced the abandonment of the match between the West Indies 'B' and Canada without a ball being bowled.

At the Brian Lara stadium, Trinidad crushed a hapless Windwards by seven wickets with more than 40 overs to spare. Imran Khan took 3-13, and the legspinner was supported by Khary Pierre, who took two wickets for seven runs, and Rayad Emrit, who captured two wickets for eight runs, as they skittled the Windwards out for an embarrassing 78 all out. Gideon Pope topscored with 37. Kavem Hodge took 3-48 to reduce Trinidad to 23-3, until Lendl Simmons and Nicholas Pooran saw the hosts home with unbeaten knocks of 52 and 25 respectively.

In their rain-affected match at the 3W's stadium, the Leewards won a cellar battle with the USA by 47 runs on D/L. The portly Rahkeem Cornwall struck 125 not out from just 93 balls, including six fours and ten sixes, to lead the Leewards to 248-7 off 49 overs. He was supported by captain and wicketkeeper Devon Thomas, who made 43. Pacer Kyle Phillip took 3-62. Cornwall then took 2-13 and Orlando Peters 2-11 to restrict the Americans to 130-7 off 36 overs. Chasing a target of 178, the USA never got close, captain and wicketkeeper Jaskaran Malhotra topscoring with 40.

At Kensington Oval, the CCC joined Jamaica, Trinidad and Guyana in the semi-finals, when they crushed a hapless Barbados by 125 runs. There were half-centuries from Jonathan Drakes (70), Amir Jangoo (62) and Kjorn Ottley (57), as the CCC piled up an imposing 259-7 against medium pacers Shamar Springer (3-48) and Kevin Stoute (2-40). Spinner Yannick Ottley then took 3-24, and medium pacer Carlos Brathwaite 3-12, to dismiss Barbados for a paltry 134 all out, Jonathan Carter topscoring with 26.

October is the tail-end of the hurricane season, and usually the rainiest month in the Caribbean. Hence, three matches were washed out and abandoned this weekend. They were Guyana vs Windwards at Queen's Park Oval, Trinidad vs West Indies 'B' at the Brian Lara stadium, and CCC vs USA at Cave Hill.

At Kensington Oval, Barbados left it too late in the tournament to secure a consolation 39-run win over Jamaica. Jonathan Carter hit 82, Shamarh Brooks 60, and Leniko Boucher 46, as Barbados piled up 246-5 against one wicket each for Jerome Taylor, Reynard Leveridge, Derval Green and Chris Lamont. Pacers Shamar Springer (5-30) and Keon Harding (3-58) then dismissed Jamaica for 207 all out, the only batsmen offering any resistance being Andre McCarthy with 83 and Nkrumah Bonner with 41.

Jamaica have already qualified for the semi-finals, while Barbados will not advance to the knockout stage of the competition they are hosting.

As the group stages came to a close, the matches between Guyana and the West Indies 'B' at Tarouba and Trinidad vs Canada at Port-of-Spain were both abandoned without a ball being bowled, thanks to the rainy weather that usually accompanies the month of October.

There was an upset win for the USA over Jamaica at Cave Hill, in a match that was of academic interest only, where the Americans won by 74 runs. Manank Patel struck 109, including eight fours and two sixes, and he was supported by a knock of 66 from Aaron Jones. The USA piled up 240-9 against pacers Jerome Taylor (4-34) and Derval Green (2-48). Timil Patel then took 3-15, and there were two wickets each for Jones and Netravalkar, as the Jamaicans were skittled out for an embarrassing 166 all out, Jermaine Blackwood topscoring with 51.

At Bridgetown, the CCC beat the Leewards by eight wickets and two overs to spare on D/L in their rain-affected match. Pacer Jermaine Levy took 4-48 and spinner Jon-Ross Jaggesar 3-38 to restrict the Leewards to 209-9, Devon Thomas topscoring with 46. Set a revised target of 169 from 41 overs, Kjorn Ottley hit 67 and Nicholas Kirton 65 not out as the CCC chased down the total.

The semi-finals, which will feature Jamaica vs Guyana and Trinidad vs the CCC, will be played on Thursday and Friday at Kensington Oval.

Congrats to the CCC on winning this!

The university students dominated the semis and the final, all played at Kensington Oval.

In the first semi-final, Guyana scraped a narrow one-wicket win over Jamaica with just one ball remaining. Nkrumah Bonner struck 76 not out, and he was supported by a 56 from John Campbell, and 30s from Andre McCarthy and Derval Green, as Jamaica piled up an imposing 272-8. Clinton Pestano took 3-56, and there were two wickets each for Romario Shepherd and Veerasammy Permaul. Captain Leon Johnson led the Guyanese reply with a knock of 101, including 11 fours, and he was supported by a 68 from Raymon Reifer, while Permaul saw Guyana home with 22 not out. Pacer Jerome Taylor took 3-44, and there were two wickets each for Gordon Bryan and Nikita Miller.

In the second semi, Trinidad went down to an embarrassing seven-wicket loss to the CCC. Pacer Akeem Jordan took 5-18 to skittle Trinidad out for a paltry 92 all out, Dwayne Bravo topscoring with 27. Kjorn Ottley then struck 39 not out as the CCC chased down the target for the loss of three wickets.

In the final, the CCC beat Guyana by six wickets with more than 12 overs to spare. Pacers Jermaine Levy (4-43) and Carlos Brathwaite (3-42) combined to dismiss Guyana for 204, Tagenarine Chanderpaul topscoring with 56. Kyle Corbin then hit 72 and Kjorn Ottley 45 as they got the CCC off to a winning start, and Brathwaite took the students home to victory with 30 not out. Shepherd took 2-41.
