It was slow going at Cave Hill, as Barbados crawled to 197-6 at the close of the second day's play in response to the Leewards 252. Jonathan Carter has topscored with 63 so far, while left-arm pacer Sheldon Cottrell has taken three wickets to date.

At the halfway stage of their match in St Lucia, Guyana were in command. Pacer Clinton Pestano took 4-46 and left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul 3-13 to dismiss the Windwards for 187 all out, Alick Athanaze and Delorn Johnson hitting 34s. A total of 15 wickets fell on the penultimate day's play at the 3Ws Oval. Pacers Alzarri Joseph (4-48) and Sheldon Cottrell (3-48) dismissed Barbados for 248 all out. Leading by a mere four runs on first innings, the Leewards collapsed to 165 all out in their second turn at bat. Pacer Miguel Cummins took 3-29 while tailender Jeremiah Louis topscored with 38. Chasing 170 for victory, Barbados were 13-1 at stumps.

Guyana were in a good position to force a win going into today's final day at Beausejour. In their second innings, Guyana made 310-4 declared, on the back of knocks by Tagenarine Chanderpaul (84 not out), Clinton Pestano (69) and Chris Barnwell (61 not out). Set an unlikely 348 for victory, the Windwards limped to 54-2 at the close of the third day's play.

Low scores continued to plague the second round of the PCL.

Set a mere 107 for victory, Jamaica were bundled out for a pathetic 65 all out by Barbados on the third day of their match at Cave Hill by Jomel Warrican (4-27) and Miguel Cummins (4-19). John Campbell topscored with 19.

In Antigua, the Guyanese tightened the noose around the Leewards going into today's final day. Trailing by 107, the Leewards closed on 130-7 for a lead of just 23 runs with only three wickets remaining. Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul has taken five wickets to date, while Rahkeem Cornwall is the topscorer for the hosts so far with 27.

At the Brian Lara stadium, the match was still in the balance at the end of the penultimate day's play. Roland Cato hit 103 and Taryk Gabriel 58 to take the Windwards to 288 all out in their second innings. The wickets were shared by spinners Brian Charles (5-113) and Imran Khan (4-79). Set 270 to win, Trinidad were 133-5 at stumps, Kyle Hope topscoring so far with 28, and offspinner Shane Shillingford snaring three wickets to date.

As the third round started after the Christmas break, at Bridgetown defending champions Guyana got off to a good start in their top-of-the-table clash with Barbados. Opening batsman Chandrapaul Hemraj hit 144, and there were unbeaten 50s from Raymon Reifer and wicketkeeper Anthony Bramble, as Guyana posted 319-5 at the end of the first day's play. Offspinner Ashley Nurse has taken two wickets so far.

In Kingston, Kavem Hodge took 4-40 to dismiss Jamaica for an unimpressive 210 all out, Assad Fudadin topscoring with 81, and Chadwick Walton making 52. The Windwards were 34-1 at stumps.

At Tarouba, opening batsman Montcin Hodge hit an unbeaten century to guide the Leewards to 291-6, supported by a knock of 65 from allrounder Rahkeem Cornwall. Pacer Shannon Gabriel has taken three wickets to date for Trinidad.

At Kensington Oval, Guyana piled up a commanding 548 all out on the second day of their match against Barbados. Anthony Bramble hit 130 not out and he was supported by half-centuries from Raymon Reifer (75) and Sherfane Rutherford (54). Barbados's Test bowling attack of Kemar Roach, Miguel Cummins, Jason Holder, Jomel Warrican and Roston Chase could only manage 3-379 between them, while offspinner Ashley Nurse captured 4-122. The hosts were 33-1 at stumps.

A total of 15 wickets fell on the second day at Sabina Park, as medium-pacer Rovman Powell took 5-23 to dismiss the Windwards for a paltry 113 all out, captain Kirk Edwards topscoring with 29. Leading by 97 on first innings, Jamaica limped to 129-6 at the close of play, Jermaine Blackwood topscoring so far with 35. There are two wickets each to date for Sherman Lewis, Josh Thomas and Larry Edwards.

At the Brian Lara stadium, opening batsman Montcin Hodge hit 158 as the Leewards were in a strong position at the halfway stage of their match against Trinidad. Tailender Jeremiah Louis also hit 51 not out as the Leewards made 425 all out, against pacers Shannon Gabriel (3-54) and Daniel St Clair (3-61). In a very rare occurrence in the PCL, all three games went into the final day.

At Bridgetown, left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul took 4-124 to dismiss Barbados for 360 all out. Wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich hit 81 and Jonathan Carter 68. Since Guyana made 548, and lead by over 150 on first innings, they will decide overnight whether to enforce the follow-on, or to bat again on today's final day.

In a low-scoring match in Kingston, the game was in the balance. In their second innings, Jamaica were bowled out for a mere 189 all out by Josh Thomas, who took 4-44. Assad Fudadin topscored once more with 48. Set 287 for victory, the Windwards were 176-4 at stumps on the penultimate day, Roland Cato hitting 54. Medium pacer Rovman Powell has taken two wickets so far.

In a turnaround at Tarouba, 10 wickets fell on what was a good batting pitch on the first two days. Trinidad were bowled out for 252 all out by Rahkeem Cornwall (4-73) and Alzarri Joseph (3-80), Jeremy Solozano topscoring with 80. Leading by 173 on first innings, the Leewards opted not to enforce the follow-on, and, batting again, limped to 168-6 declared. Montcin Hodge made 77 not out, but there was not much else, as pacer Shannon Gabriel took 3-35. Trinidad have been set a victory target of 342 on today's final day.

Defending champions Guyana continued their dominance of the PCL when they comprehensively beat a Barbados team comprising seven Test players by six wickets at Kensington Oval. Following on 188 runs behind, Barbados could only manage 232 all out in their second innings, against left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul (4-73) and medium pacer Raymon Reifer (3-53). Roston Chase made 68 and Shane Dowrick 65. Set a mere 45 to win, Guyana contrived to loss four wickets in chasing the target, pacers Miguel Cummins and Kemar Roach taking two wickets each.

At Sabina Park, the Windwards beat Jamaica by five wickets. Captain Kirk Edwards hit 76 and Kavem Hodge 59 not out, to take the visitors to 289-5, against medium pacer Rovman Powell, who took two wickets.

At the Brian Lara stadium, the Leewards won by 245 runs. Trinidad chased 342 for an unlikely victory, but crashed to an embarrassing 96 all out. Pacer Alzarri Joseph took 4-22 and offspinner Rahkeem Cornwall 4-29, while opener Jeremy Solozano topscored with 42.

Two matches started yesterday in the fourth round of the PCL.

At Providence, opening batsman Tage Chanderpaul ground his way to 71 not out from 297 balls, while wicketkeeper Anthony Bramble struck a whirlwind run-a-ball 168, to propel defending champions Guyana to 307-6 against the Windwards. Josh Thomas has taken three wickets to date.

In the bottom-of-the-table clash at Sabina Park, Trinidad limped to 134-7 in a match truncated by wet spots on the pitch. Medium pacer Rovman Powell has taken three wickets so far for Jamaica, while Yannick Cariah has topscored with 22. Darren Bravo, on his return to four-day cricket, could only manage 17.
