Lower tier (almost top row) of the County Durham Stand, nice little vantage point at long-off/deep mid-wicket. I did think about sitting on the Blue Peter stand, but did not want to miss any more cricket on top of missing Yorkshire's powerplay.

Junction 63 slip road wants extending, I was 3-4 car lengths away from queuing on the A1 itself. Took me about 3hrs to get to CLS today (roughly 1hr 10mins to finally join the A1M from Harrogate and spent 50 minutes from exiting the A1 to parking up). Drive home was nice, virtually no traffic after I got off the A1M so it was to drive at maximum speed limit most of the time instead of some slow coach doing 40mph on a 60mph zone (and still does 40mph on a 30mph zone)

Also stuck a couple of cheeky quid on Yorkshire to win at 20/1, just as Jack Leaning went for 10 in his 1st over.

I always wonder how long it takes to get out of the car parking, tbh. It always looks totally chaotic and would be the sort of thing that could stop people coming back again.

There is lots of parking, but only one way in and out for Durham games. Different for the internationals because the police close all the other roads off for an hour and the traffic flows away easily. When they do that it is effectively a 4 lane road away from the ground and then dual carriageway in every direction either to Durham or to the motorway. When they don't, the route out is just a series of pinch points at every roundabout, so perhaps for Friday night T20 matches the club need to pay to get the police involved with traffic management.

I'm lucky.... I have a patient who lives on the other side of the A167 park road and is happy for me to park on her drive, so all I have to do is walk through the parking area, cross the main road at the crossing point, walk around the corner, and I'm then driving in the opposite direction to everyone else..... straight home! It's worked well for years now. I have no idea what I'll do when she isn't there any more

I hope the disastrous collapse doesn't put too many off! I doubt it will, weather and atmosphere were good and think that's the main thing.
It does however further highlight the need to strengthen ahead of next season.

my fault, of course.

I bought a season ticket in 2017 and they were an embarrassment for most of that Dribble campaign. Missed 2018 (because of 2017) and they got to the QF's, so I went back this year.......... pffff

clearly I'm the common denominator

:lmao
I wonder if they can repeat the performance one more time on Tuesday. A sort of hat trick. Think I'll go to the pub quiz instead and hope they don't have it on the big screen TV.

although I blamed my eldest son-in-law for last night... Stainless was on 49 and he said "Do you know... I've never seen a Durham player get a half century in T20".... next ball, naturally.

I'm sure Steel didn't touch it, because he stood there so long looking at the umpire that for a moment I thought he was going to refuse to leave the field

Yep! And that was such a predictably crucial dismissal. A familiar feeling a a sense of relative calm descends into panic.

Hastily arranged Durham 2nds v Lancs 2nds this week to give Jimmy the sulk some practise before 4th test, according to Sky's Verdict.Once again we help FTECB not to mentionsuperBen. Can you imagine the bile they would have received if it hadn't been for him today?
However the game should give C. Steel and Robson a useful test. I'd imagine the pair will feature in the final 3 CC games-have to, there's no alternatives.

I was a couple of rows behind some noisy kids and a block away from the jubilant drunk Yorkshire lads. Interestingly behind me was a young family who appeared to be from Middlesbrough. Dad was cheering on Yorkshire, but his eldest son was cheering on Durham :hmmm
