Not a costly drop though because he's out now for 43. An excellent innings given the circumstances.

And if Carse has been picked for his batting it's not worked so far-0!!

Raine out for 42, very good innings but out again to a poor shot.
Perhaps he'd be better used up the order so he's not always coming in when the wheels are well and truly off.
Batting looks tricky here so perhaps 138/9 isn't quite as bad as it looks. Time will tell.

Well, they've got past 150 and that's about 50 more than I thought they'd get at lunch time.
If this goes true to form Gloucs will probably be 80 for 80 andbthen finish with 300!

Two lbw appeals in succession- the first looked out and not given and the second one looked less out but was given. Hammond not impressed.
And now a huge appeal first ball against Bracey is turned down.
29/1.
Carse looks threatening-still no Salisbury.

Might have done the umpire a disservice- on replay that lbw was out!
Carse causing problems but batting doesn't look to be as impossible as our lot made it seem.

Is the stream always way behind? Called into the appropriately named The Sticky Wicket and the TV feed is several overs behind.
Salisbury has 2 wickets-65/3 so maybe we could get back into this.

No doubt we won't be able to get through the tail and they'll get 400.

Yep. The current pair have already added 30 fairly comfortably.

Unless the last 5 wickets go down very quickly in the morning this will surely be yet another heavy defeat...and I think it'll probably be a defeat even if we do bowl them out in double quick time unless Bancroft makes a big score.
Questions must be asked about opening the batting with Pringle - pretty much guaranteed to make a bad situation even worse.
I think second X1 form is pretty irrelevant when it comes to players who have been around for a long time, Pringle would be expected to score runs in the seconds but not for the first team-and that's before taking into account he's not an opener.

I think we'll take a couple of early wickets but still end up conceding about 50 runs on first innings. Then, of course, we'll lose 4 or 5 wickets before we get into credit and rue not having an extra 100 runs to defend tomorrow after tea.

Probably! Northants seem to be following our example- reducing Sussex to 68/6. Close of play score 370/6.
