Forecast has improved slightly for the rest of the match but not to the extent of suggesting anything other than a draw.
Think the very best scenario is a few more bonus points possibly up for grabs.

Loan, I assume. Good player, lots of baggage.

On loan until July 11th

Northants couldn't get Wells, then?

or Barker?

A real comedy of errors by the sound of it. Bancroft surely will be OK, had a few starts so it'd be realistic to expect him to come good sooner rather than later - and he might be here all year, I was pretty sure he'd get the Ashes call but not so sure now.
It's at the stage now where if we aren't at least 5 down after the first session you'd start to wonder if something was wrong with them! If the score at lunch was 100-1 it'd be headline news on Sky Sports.

David Hoops on Burnham in his cricinfo report
Cricket is right to take a tough line on drug abuse, not just because of somewhat dubious performance-enhancing qualities but also sport's general commitment to health and fitness, but in fairness to Burnham no matter how much he took he didn't follow it up by condemning such behaviour and standing for the leadership of the Conservative party.

I think Burnham has shown a few promising signs, made some runs in tough situations so there's still hope for him. Trouble is the imbalance between youth and proven experience in that top 6 but I guess North and Franklin were unable to do anything about it. Will the purse strings be loosened next year? By then though the Brexit shenanigans might mean Kolpaks aren't an option.

It's pretty gloomy outside but the forecast actually looks reasonably promising for today.

It looks ( relatively) decent just a couple of miles from the ground so we might get a surprising amount of play in today.
Forecast remains dire for the last two days.

Two batting points.

Northants were 30-0 after 10.4 overs. Now I thought that after 10.4 overs sides had to be either 14-3 or 16-3, so it seems Northants are playing by different rules to the rest of us, which doesn't sound fair. If they are going to play the game, then they should play it properly, imo, and stop bending the rules to suit themselves

A miracle. I wonder what would happen if we were in the position to enforce the follow on? Almost certainly hypothetical given it'd require an even worse collapse than we are capable of and the openers are off to a quick start.
The forecast remains dire for the last two days but it was equally dire for today.

There should be a points deduction for not losing wickets and a further one for scoring more than 2 an over.

In the absence of Matt Salisbury, it seems that Bryden Carse (nice 77 btw) has been given the job of feeding the opposition early boundaries
