Forward thinking again by FTECB. After all, they assume the hundred will mimic the success of the Bigbash so why not Cricket here on Boxing Day which is always a sellout in Australia.

Scott Steel is in the squad for tomorrow and Salisbury is back too. Burnham out injured.
Apparently it's Handscomb's last game before heading back to Australia! I thought he was available for the full season - or is Bancroft coming back?!

The prospect of the Steel Brothers opening?

Middlesex appear to have seam bowlers coming out of their ears as all seem to be fit and selected and have the additional menace of Cummings from the West Indies... Big sigh, just what our top order need......
It's been a while.....
One day I'll post something new - when my computer lets me!!!!!! Or even update the site it's rather out of date now isn't it. http://planetdurham.wordpress.com/ ...yer actual Lion hunting bloke of the wide open African plains sees bowling as a natural progression from spear throwing. Yesssss!

Big blow if we have to play the last 2 games with no overseas batsman- wonder if we can get someone in?Although it'd be asking a lot for somebody to come in and immediately hit their straps. A bowler would probably have more chance of making an instant impact.

Yes, the unreliability of overseas signings suggests we'd be better spending the money on a long term Kolpak signing. Has Benks got a son old enough yet :D ?

Middlesex squad

Dawid Malan (c)

Miguel Cummins

Stephen Eskinazi

Steven Finn

Nick Gubbins

James Harris

Tom Helm

Max Holden

Tim Murtagh

Sam Robson

Toby Roland-Jones

George Scott

John Simpson (wk)

Nathan Sowter

Yeah. A good Kolpak player would be ideal. Have to get one before Brexit so time is on our side!

Well that gives us at least 5 years.

he will have, because my grandson once played a match with a baby Benks, (I know this because Benks was there watching) and my grandson is 21 now

For all their fire power, Middlesex have appeared a bit ropey at times this season

doubtless we'll make them look like the best team in the country

I'm hoping that 668 will give a blow by blow account of the match, assuming that she'll be going to watch

I have no doubt that if we make a really good start against the Middle batting line up, that Harris will score a ton to get them out of trouble, probably with a couple of big lower order partnerships with TRJ and Steve Finn

Sign him And the other siblings and we can become Benkshire.
If today's line up is representative of next season it's another season of struggle. Handscomb 's cameos have hardly been worth the money.

We opted to have a toss, Middlesex won it and chose to bowl. Interesting! :scared
