I have no doubt that if we make a really good start against the Middle batting line up, that Harris will score a ton to get them out of trouble, probably with a couple of big lower order partnerships with TRJ and Steve Finn
lets hope I'll be proved wrong
Fingers crossed! I wonder what was going on today - a poor pitch or just poor batting agsinst good bowlers.
Me??? Blow by blow!!?? "a poor pitch or just poor batting agsinst good bowlers". Come on gang, I know nothing about pitches or good v bad choice of shot!
I'd say two decent bowling attacks and two fragile batting lineups. Middlesex have had problems with their batting rather like us. And late season conditions- sunny and warmish then cool and cloudy tending to favor the bowlers. So who can collapse least cheaply!
The bowling change seemed to unsettle our openers. I found watching Robson really difficult, I'd rather watch Trevaskis - and I don't like watching him! Robson gave the impression of someone who couldn't bat. He wasn't around long, and gave the full impression that he would trot back to the pav imminently. I'll let you know if he looks any better next innings.... Jones never lasted long in his experimental trial, but he never looked as poor. [ Most of our bowlers seem more composed!]. I hope Robson does do better!!!!! In contrast Scott looked fine and then he was out. Handscombe scored some runs, and that's about all I can remember.
Ben Raine did Ben Raine things, but then got substituted for Rushy and they all came off for bad light never to return. Ecks seems to like to change the bowlers quite frequently.
It may or may not rain in the morning, the forecast switches to and fro. It will be cloudy. When it's cloudy bowlers can do well at Lord's, more so than anywhere else I can think of, so I was surprised with the Middlesex decision not to bat first on a Sunny morning, with possible showers next day. [It was sunny when Lees and Steel were batting, but their wickets came when there was no sun, I've just checked my pictures] I recon this is going to be a short match.
The Nursery end is now the McAlpine end and all cordoned off - so I still haven't made it to the Media Center at Lord's yet.....
