Very impressive for an opener at CLS. He'll probably not get any runs once I've said it but ...he should get 1000+ by the end of the season.

For all I like Liam Trevaskis, and for all he has done well for us in the Dribble, we should probably be spending some of this salary cap money on drafting in a spinner capable of winning CC games for us. 3 wickets @ 98 isn't much use to us. He might be better off doing a Borthdick and concentrating on his batting (he has 350 runs and a couple of half centuries this season).

I'm not sure we have ever produced (or unearthed) a home grown spin bowler of any merit. Perhaps we shouldn't bother trying.

Burnham has just moved up to number 3 in this season's run stakes

4 batting points

and no reason at all why we shouldn't get all 5

has that happened this season yet?

39 runs needed for max points

18 overs remaining and plenty of wickets still in hand

sound familiar? :scared

Something must be wrong with Eckersley! Rimmington in now. I know the captaincy can be a curse but...

caught behind off Will Davis.... oh the ignominy!

I've seen Davis bowl in all 3 formats now and I confess I have no idea why he is in their team.

All of a sudden batting looks a bit trickier. A few anxious moments. And Trevaskis looks jittery - a couple of wafts outside the off stump.

Not a great deal. Woody in fine form talking about being so nervous during the WC Final that he almost threw up in a posh sink. A not entirely on message comment about Foakes being a better keeper than Bairstow and Buttler! And both Wood and Handscomb didn't seem enthused by the 100 competition and gave the impression the format is not popular with players but the salary is.
Handscomb said John Hastings told him this was a great club. He was also very impressed by Lees.
And also a bizarre question where someone seemed to be calling for Hameed and Alex Hales to open the batting for the next test. Prompting Emmerson to say Hales doesn't play red ball cricket any more and Wood to imply he wouldn't be welcome back even if he did!
