You think Surrey were bad before the hundred, the black hole of talent will swallow all once every other club is bankrupted by the ecb

Yep! They were the one club who had the financial clout to speak up against the hundred but ironically the competition will make them even more powerful.

This is good news to me. Colly has always maintained that the season he spent in Aussie in his formative years was the making of him.

I agree. Big season next year for those players who have yet to turn potential into consistent performances.
And Rimmington seems to have had a new lease of life!

One year deal signed by Scott Steel and a T20 only one year contract for Rimmington.

happy with the deal for Rimmer.... his best format by far. I'd have given Stainless a 2 year deal and looked to extend it if he continues to do well next year. If he does do well, you can bet Notts or Lancs will start circling

We've also handed 'rookie' contracts (whatever they are) to Jack Campbell, Sol Bell, Josh Coughlin, Michael Jones and Oliver Gibson

Coughlin seems to have been a rookie for quite a few years! Agree about Steel, expectation has to be for him to do well next year and if he does we may struggle to keep him.

Fact is though only 2 new full contracts have been offered,S.Steel and Trevaskis, giving us a full-time complement of 15 but with those 2 yet to prove themselves at CC level as has Potts. Doubts also about Clark and Weighell who are now in their mid-twenties.None of those 'rookie' graduates are anywhere near CC level as yet. So only 10 players proven at the top level.
Well off for spin, though, but it's the sort propagated by North and Franklin.

I note that Rimmer's T10 side have him down as their 'emerging talent' player

emerging talent.......

he's 36!

they may have bought the wrong player..... sort of thing we'd do, in truth

Well he will be 'emerging talent ' in Afghanistan given that, I assume, he's never played there before.

Yep. Still a threadbare squad and no sign of the sort of recruitment we need to turn the promising signs of the last season into something more substantial.

If it is him it seems a ridiculous signing - the manner of his departure was bad enough but we need proven batsmen not injury prone bowlers or all-rounders.
