It'll have to be someone who could potentially do the whole tournament because if Bancroft doesn't come back the 'contingency' plans that they supposedly have presumably involve a re placement player but it would be a big ask for whoever it is to be replacement captain as well. Unless Latham is available and I've a feeling he is not.

I think the intention is/was for Bancroft to be captain but now a new, possible interim, captain is required. I can understand the hesitancy in that respect but,nevertheless, we need a captain for tomorrow. Mind it was about 9pm on the eve of the Worcs game before that squad was announced.
