Even though we won the competition last season, I would argue that we actually look a better outfit this season.

Good news for us, less so for others.

Even though we let Glammy off the hook slightly, that was still a very easy win for us.

With the overs left you'd have probably made 400 plus if needed!

Flat pitch. Short boundary to one side. Par was 350 minimum.

Glamorgan twice messed up their innings, and yet still made 290. Which just shows the volume of runs they left out there.

Par scores seem to be climbing dramatically. Riverside has a pretty big playing area and yet 340 the other day didn't look remotely out of reach for most of the second innings despite taking 3 early wickets. Durham lost 2 straight away before getting 340. The Notts/Lancs game today with 400 im both innings- if Vilas had faced 2 or 3 more balls before getting out they'd have chased 418.

We're looking at Rahane to takeover from Markram at the end of the one day group stage. Certainly for the eight 4 day matches which then immediately follow, and possibly for the t20s which then follow after that. (But the WC will have finished by then, so we might go back to Markram instead.)

Rahane feels like a gamble. Does he have any CC experience?

Not that I'm aware. I don't think he has any domestic experience outside of India, let alone in England.

Pretty straight forward MOTM choice. Markram proving himself to be a more than useful 6th bowler (so please revert back to Donald ahead of Berg next match - we looked a batter light today).

Like I said, I really do think we look stronger this season. Last season I thought we somewhat fluked out way through, and it was only at the business end of the competition that we looked like winners - with Northeast and Dawson back from injury, and Vince in magical form. Whereas this season, I think we've looked an outfit from the word go.

(Not that that guarantees you trophies of course. 2011 was arguably our best t20 team, and yet they just failed to match what we achieved in 2010 and 2012.)

Two short of highest score in competition for Vince, probably had his eye on 200 as opposed to record score.

Some innings though, it seems that someone steps up to plate and makes a Biggie each game, Markram, Alsop, Northeast and now Vince.

Final is only a month away!

Sixth game of the season, we're yet to have the choice of bat or bowl! Makes five wins even more impressive!

Bit of an annoying last wicket partnership but another comprehensive win, and a good recovery after a tricky start to our innings.
