Assuming no points deduction, we'll finish the week on top of the Championship. We've overtaken Somerset, and Yorkshire now cannot overtake us regardless of how the rest of the match goes.

Looks like a very good days work for us. Probably best to wait until both teams have batted first though before making any assumptions. Looking at some of the wickets it’s looks like there is swing and seam movement so 181 could yet be a good score!

Yorks are live streaming the game on their site, all 4 guys bowled well, particularly Fidel who was nailing Yorkers to their tail.

You’d think we need a substantial first innings lead, anything less than 300 and you’d back Yorks.

Also unsure on Alsop he left the field after a few overs with food poisoning

I still don’t get where that opening partnership from Soames and Weatherley came from in the second innings against Warks a few weeks back. They haven’t managed to get it off the wicket in any innings since or before.

These 11.4 overs might not sound much, but they could be very important. Spend 3.4 overs seeing Fuller smash a few, to get us up to being bowled out for 250; a second batting point and a very nice 70 run lead. And then after losing the 2 overs for change of innings, have 6 overs at them to maybe nick a couple out.

Fair play to Joe to decide to see if we could maybe make a late dart at this. Although hopefully we don't risk any further wickets, and just accept batting out the draw now.

Draw. Probably saved by the weather in the end. Top of the table for a few days.
