It was very good at that point. But taken about 90 mins to remove Stone and OHD has surely meant this will now be a draw.
If we'd bowled them out before lunch, with a lead of about 280, we maybe could have looked to really go hard throughout this entire middle session. Maybe smash 170 and declare at tea with a lead of 450. Four sessions to bowl them out, including a healthy period of about 40 overs after the second new ball (the new ball is the only thing which has taken wickets in this match). Also, having the two innings' finish at lunch and tea respectively would have meant that no overs were lost for change of innings.
But instead the lead has been reduced down to 230 and, more importantly, about 2/3rds of this middle session has now gone. Now we're not going to be able to declare until deep into the final session. Maybe only 8 to 10 overs at them tonight? Will 100 to 110 overs be enough to bowl them out? I'm not sure.
It was still a very good morning for us. But I kind of feel that we're back where we started, whereby a draw is almost certainly the final result.
