It depends. Essex would be wise not to forgo batting points, and assuming that they do then go for them, they'll be so little time left.
With Somerset getting no batting points, an Essex draw with 4 or 5 batting points would still see them eat right into Somerset's 16 win points.
There's also the fact that a draw for Warks will keep them up (as would taking 9 Essex wickets before 110 overs). So no incentive for them to risk not collecting those draw points.
