Seems Yorks prepared a turner for Somerset, who left out Leach.

Fixed

A superb win by Yorkshire, overshadowed by events at Lord's :D

Yorkshire's County Championship season is still alive. Four matches left with games against Notts, Somerset, Kent and Warwickshire, win all those four and who knows.

Though Somerset and Essex play each other in the last round of County Championship matches. Ideally Yorkshire need to overturn a 30 odd point deficit in three matches to go top before the last match, probably too much to ask in reality.

How can Notts be so bad? Their team isn't so awful on paper. Something going badly wrong there.

It's very strange. Can't blame financial issues because they sign loads of players.

Buck stops at Director of Cricket, he's the one who has to sign off all the signings. But Newell appears beyond reproach.

It's a very good side on paper...maybe too many signings all at once?

Notts just don't have a core of players who have come from the Academy. No coincidence Surrey's recent success have come from the Curran brothers, Burns, Foakes, Virdi, Pope et al.

Except Foakes came from the Essex academy, Curran brothers were schooled in South Africa, Morkel is South African, Borthwick and Stoneman developed in the Durham Academy, Clark established his career at Warwickshire and captain Batty came through the Yorkshire Academy. Virdi and Pope are certainly promising, Burns is established but the best one of all is Roy who didn't warrant a mention.
