Liking from what I see with Duanne Olivier, extracting bounce on what looks like a slow wicket at Trent Bridge. He's only going to be a real handful at Scarborough on a bouncy track.

Still, Notts day. Joe Clarke makes first CC ton of the season.

Northants day. 310/6. According to the BBC commentary most of the batsmen sold their wickets dearly and despite some good bowling from Murtagh and Roland-Jones 3 bonus points earned. Hopefully a sign of things to come unlike last year dismal batting efforts.

Is it my imagination, or do these matches start earlier and earlier every year? Playing a four day game on 5th April is ludicrous.

Hameed hits his double ton. Well done.

Northamptonshire achieve a 4th batting point. Unheard of riches!

Five-fer on debut.

Looks a lot of runs for Notts though.

Glamorgan struggling against the students. I sense another bottom place finish come September

Blimey, Mitch Claydon with a five wicket haul against Somerset. Kent's first game back in Division 1 going well so far.

Well redeemed after wasting the new ball last night, along with Coad. Think Notts have scored 50 above par, Root and Tattersall partnership is massive tomorrow.

Folk say Olivier just bangs it in short but I find those observations disingenuous when he bowls awkward angles, making it challenging for the batsmen to score.

Roland-Jones and Harris put on 50 for the 8th wicket. Here we go again.

N'hants making hard work of this. Holder going a long time without a wicket.
