Turning into a bit of a charade this year.

Firstly there are just three clubs ....which means there isn't just six fixtures.

The first was in May, the second in July and the third finished today. They are three day matches and all of the, have turned into a draw.

And still despite this....the bastards nearly beat us.

Honourable mention for Simi Singh who got 100* off 124 balls and then a fivefer for Norther Knight today though.

The farce continues.....

Game five.....one day left....still in the first innings...will definitely be another draw.

Waste of everyone's life.

William Porterfield (95* overnight) gave up on Warwickshire for this crock.

And Day 3 completely washed out.

Any rewards of implementing a First Class system won't be properly realised after 10 years when the next generation of players come through. Perhaps the short to medium term lies in competitive school age cricket, then scholarships that lead to playing at Academy level and touring with the Ireland U19 team.

It's a bit like Bangladesh when they first started out as a test nation, from being whipping boys to serious opposition.

Whilst the rest of the UK is bathed in a heat wave.....the 6th game of this tournament saw no play on the first day due to a wet outfield.

Another domestic trophy to get my teeth into. Leinster beat the North West today courtesy of a young man making his List A debut. Jamie Grassi is a relative newcomer but looked a class act as he got 82 as Leinster chased down 204.

George Dockrell's commanding century gave Leinster control of thos game before a series of rain delays made following he game near impossible. Northern Knights kindly obliged by batting poorly and being all out for 163 chasing 251.

Dockrell got his last 21 runs off 6 balls.

Barry Mccarthy was already 6 wickets clear of second place on the wicket taking charts before he took a five fer for Leinster today.

He now has 16 wickets.....11 more than anyone else.

Leinster continued their dominace of this competition with a Balbirnie inspired victory over the North West Warriors. His 72 did a lot of the heavy lifting as Leinster made hard work of chasing down the total of 231.

Leinster dominatw the competition individually also. The top two highest run scorers and the top two wicket taker are all from Leinster.

A big scoring fixture kicked off the second leg of this competition as North-West Warriors scored 292 runs to overhaul Munster's 289.

And so ends this very strangely scheduled competition. The final fixture was between Munster and the Northern Knighrts - both of whom had nothing to fight for. A dull squib it was not, however. Runs were bountiful and records were broken. The most impressive knock was actually in the losing cause. Luke Georgeson got 128 in 118 balls as the Knights tried to chase down Munster's 309. They were always in the hunt however left themselves with too much in the closing overs.

Leinster win the competition with 4 wins and a loss.

George Dockrell was the highest run scorer with with 364 for Leinster whilst his team mate Barry McCarthy ran away with the title of highest wicket-taker with 17. His nearest rival had 4 fewer.
