I would hope Holder plays for Barbados some time soon! We really need to see our Test players playing in the four-day competition. However, there's an ODI series in Sri Lanka next month, and he may be recalled to that....

Low scores made a worrying reappearance in the tournament at Providence, where Nial Smith took 5-12 and Veerasammy Permaul 4-29 to skittle Trinidad out for an embarrassing 98 all out on yesterday's second day, Jeremy Solozano topscoring with 27. Earlier, Guyana made 323 all out in their first innings, Anthony Bramble topscoring with 91. Spinner Bryan Charles took 5-87. Leading by 225 on first innings, Guyana were 53 without loss at stumps.

In their low-scoring match at Sabina Park, Barbados were in a commanding position at the halfway stage of the match. Pacer Chemar Holder took 5-45 to dismiss Jamaica for a paltry 138 all out, wicketkeeper Denis Smith topscoring with 35. Leading by 81 runs on first innings, Barbados limped to 179-6 at the second turn at bat, led by half-centuries from Shane Dowrich (73) and Kyle Mayers (53). Nicholson Gordon has taken three wickets so far for Jamaica.

On the opening day of their rain-affected day-night match at Gros Islet, the Windward Islands struggled to 93-6 against pacer Sheno Berridge, who's taken four wickets to date.

In Kingston, Barbados beat Jamaica by 119 runs with a day to spare. Nicholson Gordon took 6-45 and Patrick Harty 3-33 to dismiss Barbados for 206 all out. Set a target of 288 to win, Jamaica were bowled out for a disappointing 168 all out by Chemar Holder, who took 6-47. Nkrumah Bonner topscored with 39 not out.

Guyana will be pushing for victory on today's final day at Providence. In their second innings, Guyana made 177-5 declared, Chandrapaul Hemraj topscoring with 54. Spinners Bryan Charles and Yannick Ottley took two wickets each. Chasing an unlikely 403 to win, Trinidad were reeling at 122-6 at the close of the third day's play. Jeremy Solozano has topscored so far with 34, while Keon Joseph and Veerasammy Permaul have two wickets each to date.

The Leeward Islands were in command of their rain-affected match at the Darren Sammy stadium. After the first day's play was washed out without a ball being bowled, and half of the second day was lost to rain, the Windward Islands were bowled out for 138 all out by pacers Alzarri Joseph (5-41) and Sheno Berridge (4-39). Kieran Powell then hit 69 and Amir Jangoo an unbeaten half-century as the Leewards reached 234-5 at stumps on the penultimate day.

Low scores reared their ugly heads in this round of matches.

At Providence, Guyana beat Trinidad by 219 runs. Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul took 4-42 to dismiss Trinidad for a disappointing 183 all out, veteran Jason Mohammed making 33.

In St Lucia, despite losing the entire first day to rain, the Leeward Islands crushed the Windward Islands by an innings and 165 runs. Half-centuries from Amir Jangoo (51), Jaison Peters (57) and Alzarri Joseph (64) took the Leewards to 354-8 declared, pacer Sherman Lewis taking 3-80. Trailing by 216 on first innings, the Windwards were skittled out for an embarrassing 51 all out by pacer Sheno Berridge, who took 5-22.

Mike, what's the story with Jermaine Blackwood? Seemed a decent player for the Windies and has now seemingly been dropped. Watched him get nearly half of Jamaica's total yesterdY and looked decent enough.
