In the penultimate group stage match Durham won the toss and chose to bowl, restricting Warwickshire to 156-4 with the fit again Mitch Claydon the pick of the bowlers. Durham made light work of the chase, reaching their target in the 17th over for the loss of Phil Mustard

The final group match saw Durham despatch Northants with ease. Durham were asked to bowl, but it took an 84 run 7th wicket stand to get Northants to a respectable 154-7. Losing Mustard in the first over didn't slow Durham down as Diva and Stokes tucked in to some wayward bowling, taking Durham to 92-1 at the end of the power play. Durham eventually reached their victory target in the 18th over, with Diva again unbeaten

back into 2011 YB40 action. Surrey won the toss and chose to bat second. Durham lost wickets regularly which stifled the run rate, so they were grateful to the lower order led by Breese for the late hitting that helped them reach a respectable 253-8. In direct contrast, Surrey scored all their runs at the top of the order, and although the Durham bowlers hit back, it was too late to prevent a comfortable win for the visitors

Straight to the Rose Bowl for a YB40 meeting with Hampshire. Durham won the toss and chose to bowl first. The bowlers were miserly for the bulk of the Hampshire innings and the batsmen found scoring very difficult indeed, but with time running out for the hosts, Lumb and Carberry let rip, scoring 48 runs off the final 3 overs to post a much higher than expected total of 240-5. For once, though, there were no alarms as DiVenuto and Smith scored quickly to bring up a century partnership for the 3rd wicket. Although both perished in the space of a couple of overs, a 96 run stand between Collingwood and Benkenstein saw Durham home with 6 overs to spare

Durham have a week off now ahead of the trip to Taunton in the county championship, where they will have to manage without Graham Onions who is away on international duty

Durham chose to bowl first under heavy skies. It seemed to be the wrong decision as all Somerset's top three were in the runs and at one point reached 230-2. The new ball changed things. Suddenly there was movement there, which Davies exploited fully and Somerset were bowled out for 358... Davies picking up 6 wickets. The Durham batsmen had no such trouble and hundreds for DiVenuto and young Ben Raine allowed Collingwood to declare on 492-8 with an hour of play remaining on day 3. Somerset batted cautiously and although wickets fell regularly they were still only 5 wickets down an hour before tea and seemed to be inching their way inexorably towards safety. Ben Stokes had other ideas. Collingwood rolled the dice and In an inspired 30 minute spell Stokes took 4 of the last 5 wickets. Durham had a session to score 132 runs. Mustard was promoted to open and although Diva and Stokes fell early, Will Smith stayed with the Colonel as he saw Durham to victory in 23 overs.

Durham's poor YB40 campaign suffered another set back at home to Warwickshire. The visitors won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 262. In reply Durham lost too many wickets in clusters to mount an effective chase, slipping inexorably further behind the asking rate before collapsing to 220 all out in the 35th over. A match to forget

Back to championship action at home to Notts. Durham won the toss and elected to bat. Centuries for DiVenuto and Stokes set up Durham's total of 414 before the pace trio of Davies, Harmison and Onions steamed in. The Notts batsmen struggled to cope with the intensity and although Patel and Brown offered some resistance, Notts could could only muster 258 in reply. With time in the game, Collingwood chose not to enforce the follow on and Stokes and Benkenstein rattled Durham to 234 in 50 overs before the declaration came. Notts managed to cling on for 90 overs, but with plenty of time in the game, the result was always inevitable as Notts were dismissed for 229.
