Very interesting! If he's half as good a cricketer as his father he'll be very handy.

So there are 3 Benks juniors. I remember Benks missing a game for birth of No3.

I see Dickson's horror run goes on - out for 12 in the second X1 game against Notts. 128 all out with Trevaskis top scoring (29.)
Notts 101/1 in reply.

get Benks snr back too. If I can't have Colly as Durham head coach, then I'd rather have Benks than anyone else

I think you'll find that every County in the next few weeks will sit out a round of fixtures.

Watched a bit of the Middlesex game - Rob Key talking about how he thinks the quality of pitches is the most important factor in county cricket! Some things don't change.

Bancroft's return to the squad is delayed by a week ( visa issues) so Will Young is staying for tomorrow's game. Salisbury back in the squad.

I'd love to hear from our high performance coach the logic of persisting with Coughin whose performance has been far from high in both 1sts and 2nds. I can see Potts going elsewhere if he continues to be ignored.

Yes, Potts should be ahead of him in the pecking order.

Unless the overhead conditions change I think the toss might be crucial-looks like ideal bowling conditions- and we saw what happened to Warwickshire when they batted first!

Unchanged team from the last game. Batting first though after losing the toss.

80/2 at lunch. I'd definitely have taken that- although it may have been a good toss to lose as the overhead conditions went from cloudy to clear blue sky. Vital now of course to capitalise on this start.
Good job Borthwick got that 100 against Essex because the rest of his scores will probably add up to about 50. Not a concern yet because I think the dismissals have either been very early on or when there was a need to try and push the score on.

Well they're not capitalising on it so far! 135/5.
